It’s important to know this is pretty close to a self guided tour. We met at the ships terminal were given whisper devices and then walked about 1.3 miles to the train station with the guide getting on the train with us. . We traveled five stations and got off in Monterosoro. The Guide narrated about a half mile walk to the center of town and then left us on our own with the time to return to the train station. The same was repeated two more times. We were on our own walking back to the ship. For an extra charge taxis were available Be aware that there is a lot of walking on this tour. The day of our tour the temperature was 38 degrees Celsius (100.4 F). You do get to visit some very interesting places, but it is minimally guided.
The tour itself was good and a good value. It was advertised as a tour in English with English speaking guide. As it turned out there was one couple on the tour that were not English speaking. It was distracting to have everything repeated in another language into your earphone
This was a great tour to see the beautiful Cinque Terre region! Pamela was great at maneuvering us through crowded streets and train stations. She had a lot of excellent information and gave recommendations. Some tips for anyone coming from a cruise ship. Make sure you request an early tender, especially if it’s Royal. They have a really sloppy process for early tenders and we didn’t know how long the line would be to leave. It was easy to take a taxi from the cruise port to the train station but I felt so bad for making our group wait because we were stuck in a huge line to get off the ship. Word to the wise: book a much earlier tender than you think you need and just hang out in La Spezia until you need to meet your group! Otherwise, I highly recommend this tour and would take this again!
Tour was fantastic and guide was great! Highly recommend, worth it to see the villages- the scenery was magnificent and it was a wonderful experience.
A nice day. Guide did well. Very helpful and ensured we knew where and when to be/go and that we were all present.
Excellent tour guide - very organized as she guided us through the trains and villages. Leisurely pace with lots of free time. Would highly recommend.
Amazing guide, would recommend, great communication
Lisa, our tour guide, was great. I wasn't expecting to have to jump on and off very crowded trains. I was expecting more of a shuttle or something for just us. Lisa was very accommodating for my mother, who uses a walker. I couldn't always keep up with Lisa, after taking care of my mom, so I never got to try any Limoncino. ;(. But overall, beautiful cities in La Spezia
There is alot of walking involved in this tour so be aware of that. Other than that its so beautiful and Lisa our guide was organized and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour.
Very good tour for the Cinque Terre. Lisa was very helpful and very knowledgeable. visit 3 towns out of five because we have to get back on the cruise ship.
