Descripción
Esta descripción general animada de la arquitectura de Chicago explora edificios icónicos desde la década de 1890 hasta el presente. Compararemos y contrastaremos una amplia gama de edificios con diferentes estilos arquitectónicos y veremos cómo las estructuras más antiguas se conectan con las nuevas adiciones al horizonte. En este recorrido, haremos siete paradas en el centro de Chicago donde podremos comparar las historias y los estilos de los edificios ubicados a la vista unos de otros. El recorrido presenta edificios comerciales del siglo XIX, Beaux-Arts, modernos y posmodernos de mediados de siglo, así como lo último en arquitectura de Frank Gehry, Renzo Piano y Adrian Smith. En cada parada, veremos las conexiones entre el pasado y el presente y descubriremos qué inspira el diseño actual. El recorrido culmina con una visita al Millennium Park, donde el arte y la arquitectura de clase mundial se combinan para crear un tejido urbano único. Highly recommend the Graceland Cemetery Tour. Many prominent Chicago figures are there and the cemetery is also considered an arboretum.
