Chicago is amazing. This hop on hop off tour opens up so many possibilities. We only did two days on the bus and it was worth it. We will be back.
Stopped at some iconic Chicago points of interest. Audio tour guide was sometimes talked over by the drivers narration. A bit confusing. A great way to get to know Chicago.
Hi Steve, Thank you for your feedback! We are glad to hear that our tour was a great way for you to get to know Chicago and visit its iconic landmarks. We appreciate your honest note regarding the overlap between the audio commentary and the driver's live narration. We understand how that could be confusing, and we have shared this with our local team in Chicago so we can better synchronize our onboard commentary. Thank you again for riding with us, and we hope to welcome you back on board in the future! Madalina@BigBusTours
The driver was great and give good information along the route. He did an excellent job. He instructed you when to watch out for the branches on the road.
Hi Jeanne, Thank you for leaving such a wonderful 5-star review! We are thrilled to hear that your driver did an excellent job keeping the tour both informative and safe along the route. It is great to know his helpful safety reminders about the tree branches made for a smooth ride. We will be sure to share your kind words with our Chicago team. We hope to welcome you back on board again soon! Madalina@BigBusTours
Due to the rain, nobody wanted to sit on the upper deck, so it was extremely cramped On the first floor. With limited seating, younger able bodied passengers had to stand. The driver was extremely rough on the brakes, which threw standing passengers against windows, seats and other passengers. A member of my traveling party experienced a slight injury due to sudden braking even though they were hanging onto the grab bar.
This was a good way to get around the city. My only issue - I wish the buses would come around more often.
The tour guide was Candace and she was great! She shared personal stories and gave great depth to the history of Chicago. It was easy to locate the stops. We stayed on the whole route because we were tired and still wanted to see the city. I would recommend.
Firstly, the driver, Felicia, though pleasant, was certainly not a font of knowledge. She referenced the Taste of Chicago no less than 6 times on the trip, requested tips constantly and said about the Field Museum "this is boring, I used to hate it when I was a kid". Nothing was added to my trip and it really felt like she had no interest in the beautiful city. Along with this, and more worryingly, were some passengers behind me. Three women who were clearly intoxicated kept shouting out in response to Felicia, swearing and interrupting the journey of others. At one point in the journey, one of them proceeded to strip her garments and was not reprimanded. There were children on board this packed bus - people who had spent good money to see Chicago and instead they received personal opinion as opposed to illuminating insight and behaviour that would be deemed inappropriate in a limo on the way to a bachelorette party. I am deeply disgusted and disappointed. I have enjoyed the Big Bus tours in other countries and feel that this experience has truly dulled my view of the company.
We parked across the street at a parking garage that was near where we boarded the bus. I love hop on hop off tours because you can see everything without fighting the traffic yourself. We saw all of the major attractions other than Wrigley Field but was a wonderful day. We spent a lot of time at Navy Pier and the Butterfly House.

This 2 hour bus ride stops at a decent amount of places of interest, especially when it leaves the downtown. It goes over to Navy Pier as well as the Field Museum and Stadler Aquarium.
