this was an outstanding experience. relaxed but all the essential elements of a traditional tea ceremony. we had family members of various sizes (up to 3x) and everyone was outfitted in a lovely way in a kimono. We were able to wear the kimonos out and about all afternoon until 6 pm. there was a small shrine almost next door that provided a place for pictures. I really appreciated how we were treated. valuables were safe, as you kept them with you.
It was a really great experience. Me and my family had a great time. The kimonos were beautiful, the host was very pleasant and the matcha was delicious.
We had an early time slot at 1000. Best to go early. I didn’t know this but we were able to leave after the tea in our kimonos. We didn’t have to be back until the evening to return them. So we were able to walk around Tokyo and take pictures dressed up. The experience was so fun and my daughters loved it. The ladies who dressed us were so kind and it was a great experience. I would highly recommend.
pleasant, informative and gives great pictures. Love the kimono color options. i recommend this activity
The Tea Ceremony was vey educational and informative. We received a thorough description of the history involved and a wonderful demonstration of what was described. The tea was awesome. Kimonos were nice. Great location - Sensō-ji Temple, Asakusa Shrine are very close.
Absolutely a must do experience. Host was wonderful n the ladies who helped dress up were so patient.
The tea ceremony here, unlike ours, is about cleansing rather than nourishment. Upon arrival, you are given the opportunity to wear your chosen local attire and have your hair styled. Visually appealing. Then the tea ceremony begins in the rooms in groups. The history, purpose, and execution of the ceremony are explained. The ceremony concludes with a photo session.
Natsumi was so kind to explain to us all about the tea ceremony and the translation of all the kanjis . Creating our own matcha tea was really good and trying the snacks was also great . I hughly recommend
The tea ceremony and kimono experience were among the best activities I did in Japan. From the moment we arrived, we could already feel the traditional atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. From helping us with our kimonos to the end of the ceremony, our guide, Wakana, did an amazing job. She taught us so much, made us feel comfortable, and even took many pictures for us. Keep in mind that we were a group of seven, and she still handled everything with so much patience and a smile 😅. She is truly talented, and her tea ceremony was wonderful. I highly recommend this experience and the visit overall. 10/10!q
A lovely introduction to Japanese tea ceremony culture with a bonus of dressing up in a kimono. The whole experience runs for around 90 minutes. Small groups made it easy to hear the explanations.
