This was my husband’s idea, and I needed a little persuading, but I’m so glad we visited. The museum not only tells the story of olive oil production in Istria through the centuries, but also provides fascinating insight into the wider history of the region, the health benefits of olive oil, and the characteristics that distinguish oils from different countries. The tasting experience was particularly worthwhile and has definitely given us a better understanding of how to choose olive oil in the future. I would recommend the Gold option, as it allows you to sample a broader range of oils and includes a dessert pairing. We enjoyed it so much that we left with four bottles of olive oil and some honey. A thoroughly enjoyable and informative visit.

Great experience 🤩🤩🤩 We leant the correct way to taste olive oil. We now know what to look for when we are back in UK. Monika was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passionate about the olive oil. At 15Euro it was good value for money. The museum was excellent too. Definitely worth the visit 😊😊😊

We had a fantastic visit on a Gold pass which included access to the small museum, the basic tasting and presentation relating to the quality of olive oil and how to identify a good oil, then a further exploration of 5 oils, plus a dessert to season with your favourite oil. The host, the business manager, Marcus (? Apologies if i have this wrong) was extremely engaging and his presentation was really informative. He is clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about all things olive oil and Istrian olive oil in particular. He chatted with us in the shop afterwards and could tell us about each of the olive oils available to purchase. Really excellent way to spend a couple of hours, after an early visit to the anphitheatre - escaping the late morning sun.

It was interesting to learn about the history of making olive oil in the self-guided portion of the tour. The taste testing was quite educational and we will be much more selective when purchasing olive oil in the future!

The love and passion with which the Museum is run is evident. Outstanding!

It was a big tour with audio in Dutch that is not a standard language. Then nice and clear explanation in English with tasting. Definitely recommended

Museum is smaller than expected and lay out was strange. However the guide for the olive tasting was incredible. Really enjoyed it!

Bought the gold option to get extra oil tastings and it was worth it to try out some of their oils and find the ones I liked. The museum is small, and very informative and educational. Like most Americans, I had a misunderstanding of olive oil, and I learned a lot in the museum tour and tasting. The staff was friendly and spoke English.

The museum portion was very informative. Could have been a bit more interactive to make it more enjoyable. We did the tasting portion with the desert. Our guide was quite knowledgeable and answered our questions. I will certainly question what Extra Virgin means moving forward.

This is highly recommended, pay 45€ for the platinum expierence that you can book directly. You will be guided by the museum, you will taste 5 different olive oils, 2 wines a delicious charquterie plate and a dessert. You will learn a lot about olive oil here, and what the difference is between that of the supermarket and that of the local farmer. Echt TOP
