Entrada no incluida45 min

Entrada no incluida45 min

Entrada no incluida45 min

OK trip. Could be better

Driver and the guide Yosef, were very good. But we walked through the souk at a fast pace without being able to shop. We were then taken back to the station with 1 1/2 hours to spare. We never got to the American Legion museum. No coffee/ tea. We should have been given more free time. I would buy my own train ticket, go do a city tour in Tangier which is a bustling big city, and take a taxi to/ from the station.

Beautiful Tangier, but not a great tour company

We loved Tangier and highly recommend a visit. The city is beautiful and the coastal views are picturesque. However, we don’t recommend this particular tour. Guide and company. The tour was not well paced, with too much time overlooking the coast, and not enough time enjoying the sights of the old city. The guide rushed us through, with no time for even a brief lunch or to visit the central markets. The tour ended about 2 hours before our return time, so instead of having time to enjoy the city, we sat with extra time at the train station. Our guide Joseph was very knowledgeable, with an over emphasis on the literature from the area, and not enough general history of the people and places. You may consider making your own train arrangements,l and using a local guide in the old city which will allow time to really enjoy the people, the food and the markets of Tangier

Well worth the day

Fabulous visit from Casablanca to Tanger by train. The Tanger driver throughout the city and to the Caves of Hercules was excellent, filled by the knowledgeable walking tour guide through the old city. Wonderful and seamless from the start at our hotel to the end, back at our hotel.

Good day at Tangier, pity about missing out all the other attractions

The supposed itinerary for this tour mentioned several sites in Tangier. Alas, unknown to us, we could only visit a few of the sites. We assumed that the guide will take us to all the locations mentioned in the itinerary. We did not visit Museum of Casbah, Petit Socco, Socco Alto, the Tangier American Legation Museum, or the Tomb of Ibn Battouta, which was disappointing in hindsight. We did see a small and insignificant looking mosque with a simple tomb in the background. Whether this was the Tomb of Battouta we would not know as that name did not crop up in our tour. We were picked up by a Driver at Tangier train station who seemed somewhat off-handed in his attitude. He took us to Cap Spartel but didn't explain anything. It was a good day and perfect weather. We were able to see Spain, and seeing the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea was impressive. He then took us to Hercules Caves but gave us 20 minutes but no explanation about the caves. He told us we had to pay US$8 each although the itinerary stated that admission to Hercules Cave is free. He then took us to the Gate to Medina where we met our guide. We did not visited the Casbah but walked through the Medina with our tour guide. He was knowledgeable to a degree and we learned a bit about Tangier's history. We walked around the narrow lanes and alleys of Medina, and then climbed up to the top of the Fort for a view of the port. We had told our guide that we did not want to go shopping, however we were taken to a spice/cosmetics and perfume store where a man claiming to have been a Pharmacist went on and on and on about the benefits of all the products he had for sale. Suffice to say we wasted much too much time at this store and of course he tried his hardest to sell us very expensive Nigella Seed extract, and said that we will live for ever!!!, we didn't take the bait. We were then taken to a Rugs and Carpet place where we wasted a substantial period of time being shown numerous carpets, rugs and runners and of course we bought nothing as we had told the guide. All in all, Tangier could be an interesting place to visit if you have a serious guide, who is not interested in shopping trips. Of course at Viator you cannot choose your guide but may be other websites or direct contact in Tangiers may be an option. We came back to Tangiers train station and back to Casablanca at about 8 pm. Just make sure you can visit everything you want to see.

Great tour.

Well organized. Pick us up at the hotel on time escorted us to the train station. Yusef our guide was well informed. He brought the history alive. My only concern is the restaurant said the credit card machine was down. When we paid in cash. The exchange was much lower than Amount posted on the web.

Thank you for sharing your experience! We're happy to hear you enjoyed the tour and that Yusef enhanced your experience. We appreciate your feedback about the exchange rate and will take it into consideration. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again soon!

Good Tour but Did Not Visit Most Stops on the Itinerary

We were expecting to see the multiple sites listed in the Tangier itinerary, but only visited 4 of the listed sites, which was disappointing. We visited the Casbah and walked through the Medina with our tour guide Youssef. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about Tangier's history. We visited Cap Spartel, which was pretty great. It was a windy, cloudy, rainy day, so we could not see Spain, but seeing the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea was impressive. After that, we visited the Caves of Hercules. It was exciting seeing the caves, though we could have spent less time there to visit other attractions. We did not visit Petit Socco, Socco Alto, the Tangier American Legation Museum, or the Tomb of Ibn Battouta, as listed in the itinerary. After a short lunch, the driver brought us back to the train station a full hour earlier than we expected. I would recommend a day trip to Tangier, but maybe with a different provider. It might also be possible to take alternative high-speed trains and hire a local guide in Tangier (maybe even Youssef!) to make sure you can visit everything you want to see.

Rainy but good tour.

It was raining pretty hard when I got to Tangier. That didn’t allow me to see Spain or Gibraltar but Hamzid showed me a good part of the west part of the city where Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea and the cave of Hercules. The rain let up in the afternoon for when I met up with another guide in the old city. Yousef did a great job of explaining a vast history of the city and I learned many things. I would recommend this tour to anyone due to the drivers and guides. One thing that I would question is the price that Viator charges for the tour.

High Speed Train from Casablanca to Tangier

Our tour to Tangier was awesome. We took a high speed train from Casablanca to Tangier. The communications with the drivers through WhatsApp were great. They had signs and announcements in English that were easy to understand. Everything went smoothly logistically. The city was beautiful and well worth the journey. Highly recommended.

Good trip to Tanger

Driver Monsef was excellent. He took us to Pettit, Sacco, Cap Spartel &, Hercules caves. At place Di 9 Avril 1947 we were handed off to Foaud who gave us an excellent tour of the Tanger Medina, and the Kasbah. We were not offered the opportunity to go into the Kasbah museum, no explanation given. Overall, very informative day with easy transfers from hotel to train station, and bullet train ride.

Respuesta del operador

We appreciate your note about the Kasbah museum and will make sure to provide clearer information to future guests. We hope to welcome you again on another memorable experience!
