La mañana comienza con una breve parada en el V&A Waterfront, ubicado en el corazón del histórico puerto de Ciudad del Cabo. El complejo comercial y de entretenimiento de clase mundial es uno de los destinos turísticos más populares de Sudáfrica y ofrece a los visitantes un vistazo a los acontecimientos diarios de uno de los puertos en funcionamiento más antiguos del mundo.
Continuamos hacia las playas de bandera azul de Clifton y Camps Bay, viajando a través de los modernos suburbios costeros de la costa atlántica que corre paralela al resplandeciente océano Atlántico. Encontrarás algunas de las casas más prósperas a lo largo de este tramo de costa y playas mágicas salpicadas de sorprendentes afloramientos de granito.
Lo siguiente es una visita al pueblo histórico de Bo-Kaap, anteriormente conocido como los barrios malayos y hogar de muchos descendientes de los esclavos que una vez vivieron allí. La Compañía Holandesa de las Indias Orientales estableció Bo-Kaap (que significa Sobre el Cabo) para albergar a los esclavos de Malasia e Indonesia que fueron comprados en el Cabo en la década de 1760 para construir la ciudad. Las casas pintadas de vivos colores y las pintorescas calles empedradas cuentan la rica historia del pueblo. Puede obtener más información sobre el patrimonio cultural de la comunidad predominantemente musulmana en el Museo Bo-Kaap, que se encuentra en el edificio más antiguo del Cabo aún en su forma original.
Nos trasladamos al Castillo de Buena Esperanza, pasando por el Jardín de la Compañía y el Museo Nacional Sudafricano de Iziko. El Castillo es una fortaleza bastión construida en 1666; es el edificio colonial más antiguo del sur de África y un excelente ejemplo de un "fuerte estrella" que se vio por primera vez a mediados del siglo XV en Italia. En la actualidad, el castillo alberga el cuartel general regional del ejército sudafricano en el Cabo Occidental, la famosa colección William Fehr de obras de arte históricas, el Museo Militar del Castillo e instalaciones ceremoniales para los regimientos tradicionales del Cabo.
Su mañana termina con una visita rápida al Museo Cape Diamond, ubicado en la histórica Torre del Reloj en el V&A Waterfront. El museo brinda una visión fascinante de la historia de la fiebre del diamante de Sudáfrica y presenta exhibiciones que exploran la ciencia detrás de los diamantes.

This was our first trip to Cape Town; we booked a private half-day tour directly with MoAfrika. Our tour did not include Table Mountain (we intentionally did that easily on our own another day). Our guide was Jimmy; we spent about five hours with him and felt that we had a great overview of the city by day’s end. We wished we could have stayed longer at each stop, but we can easily return to places where we would like to have had more time. Jimmy was on-time, a safe driver, and knowledgeable about the city. His English made it challenging to fully-understand everything he communicated to us, but he made every effort to accommodate our requests and answer all our questions. Very nice guy! Highly recommend MoAfrica for tours!
This experience was very informative and fun at the same time. Having the tour was more personal since it was just myself and my girlfriend. The history that our guide Jimmy knew was very impressive.
Frank was my guide for the Cape Town and Table Mountain tour, and as always, he delivered an excellent experience. He arrived early, was punctual, and explained the history of each site clearly and in detail. He was also very patient in answering all of my questions, which I greatly appreciated. Just a small tip for future travelers: it’s best to go to Table Mountain early, as the queue can get quite long, especially on clear days. Traveler Tips: • Wear comfortable walking shoes because you’ll be doing a lot of walking at the top of the mountain. • Bring a light jacket—you’ll never know when it gets chilly or windy. • Don’t forget sunscreen, especially on clear sunny days. • Lunch stop is at the top but not included in the package, so bring some cash. • The tour pacing is leisurely, so you’ll have time to enjoy the views without feeling rushed.
