Este es el lugar que los antiguos atenienses eligieron para honrar a su dios Poseidón, dentro de una fortaleza construida para proteger su costa. Recojo de su hotel, apartamento, Airbnb, aeropuerto de Atenas o puerto del Pireo. Necesitamos alrededor de 1,5 horas para llegar a Sounio.
Glyfada es un suburbio en el sur de Atenas ubicado en la Riviera de Atenas. Está situado en la parte sur del área urbana de Atenas. El área se extiende desde el pie de la montaña Hymettus hasta el golfo Sarónico. Es el más grande de los suburbios del sur de Atenas.
Voula es un suburbio al sur de Atenas.
Vouliagmeni es un suburbio costero y antiguo municipio a 20 km al sur del centro de la ciudad de Atenas.
Varkiza, también Alianthos, es un suburbio de la gran Atenas que forma parte del municipio de Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni en el sur de Attica.
Anavyssos es una ciudad y un antiguo municipio en East Attica.
El cabo Sunion es el promontorio en el extremo sur de la península del Ático, a 8 kilómetros (5,0 millas) al sur de la ciudad de Lavrio (antiguo Thoricus) y a 70 kilómetros (43 millas) al sureste de Atenas. Es parte del municipio de Lavreotiki, East Attica. Se encuentra a 59,6 km de Atenas. El cabo Sunion es conocido por su Templo de Poseidón, uno de los principales monumentos de la Edad de Oro de Atenas. Sus restos se encuentran encaramados en el promontorio, rodeados por tres lados por el mar.

El lago Vouliagmeni ("lago hundido") es un pequeño lago de agua salobre alimentado por corrientes subterráneas que se filtran a través de la masa del monte Hymettus ubicado al sur de Vouliagmeni.
Si se selecciona la opción "Con comida tradicional griega", haremos una parada en una taberna junto al mar cerca de la ciudad costera de Anavyssos para disfrutar de la auténtica cocina griega y comidas tradicionales.

The trip to Cape Sunio was a nice break from exploring downtown Athens. We booked a 6:00 start and arrived at the perfect time to explore the area for a hour and then relax and see the sunset over the water. The drive to Sunio was beautiful along the coast and allowed us to see more of the area. So glad we booked a driver in a comfortable and clean van that easily fit our family of 4 rather than rent a car. Our driver George was a highlight! He was an excellent driver and had so much knowledge of the area and history of Greece. We enjoyed the conversation over the course of the drive. It was the perfect end to our Greece vacation.

Fantastic trip. Our driver was knowledgeable putting out things and giving information as we drove the 1 1/2 hours from the port to the temple. Be sure to arrive before sunset as the views are spectacular. Be forewarned that it gets cold and windy very quickly at sunset. We traveled 4/28. We opted for the Greek dinner. The owner was friendly and the food good. You had your choice of any items on the menu plus beer or wine. This trip was our one splurge and worth it.

This was great. Nick was a great guide. The car was a comfortable Mercedes van. We loved Cape Sounio - it was a stunning place to visit. And we opted for lunch on our way home, which was a delicious seafood meal on the water.

Dimitri picked us up at the port in Athens as we were on a cruise. Pickup went smoothly as he was right at the entrance as I had been advised via WhatsApp. When we asked for an English speaking tour guide we hoped for, but did not expect such easy communication. It was a fantastic trip that I would urge anyone to try. For added incentive, Dimitri stopped on the way back to Athens at a restaurant right on the Adriatic Sea where we had an authentic Greek meal. We all enjoyed our day with Dimitri!
