Caminata ética de 3 días por la jungla de orangutanes | Bukit Lawang, Sumatra

We had a wonderful experience, our guides Brema and Ragil were very nice and explained a lot about the animals and the history of the national park. We were lucky and saw many orangutans, monkeys and other animals. A special thanks to our chef, who prepared the most delicious (vegetarian) meals for us! Overall we are very happy and would recommend this trip to everyone:)

Honestly one of the best experiences of our lives! Myself, my husband and our 16 year old son went on a 2 night, 3 day trek and I cannot fault the experience from start to finish. The company, and manager Dedek were super easy to organise and tailor our trip with, and they met all of our requirements perfectly. Dedek answered all of my questions straight away whenever I asked! The transfer to Bukit Lawang was seamless, the guides were absolutely wonderful people, the trekking was phenomenal, the food in the jungle was amazing and the camp facilities were great. Everything surpasses all of our expectations! We saw lots of urangutans, including baby urangutans and even the enormous alpha who hadn’t been spotted in months! We also saw a family of gibbons, lots of other gibbons, macaques and lots of birds and reptiles. Our guides Waka and Yudi were extremely knowledgeable and in touch with the nature of the jungle, we learned so much from them, and they were incredibly warm, fun and patient - allowing us to go at our own pace and choose different trails throughout the trek. They also took our 16 year old son under their wing and he had so much fun with them throughout. A huge shoutout to Sugi, the camp chef who cooked all of our absolutely delicious meals, set up our beds and drove our river tube, he is one brilliant man! I ate better in the jungle than I did anywhere else in Indonesia, and for snacks we had an abundance of beautiful fruits! We’re back in the UK now, but I’ve been daydreaming constantly about our magical time in the jungle. The trekking is intense, so be prepared for steep ascents and descents, but the guides will help and support you whenever you need them!

Let’s be honest… our first evening in Bukit Lawang left us a bit speechless. The local infrastructure and visible waste management challenges gave us a rather raw welcome, and for a second, we did wonder if we’d accidentally taken a wrong turn on our way to paradise. But all that initial skepticism vanished the moment our guide, Sandi, threw us onto the back of his motorbike the next morning and buzzed us over to their trekking headquarters. That was the exact second the real magic began. Our 3-day family jungle adventure was something words can barely capture. Standing out there, watching orangutans, gibbons, monkeys, lizards, and peacocks in their actual, undisturbed home, surrounded by wild ferns, waterfalls, and giant ficus trees… it just makes you go speechless. It was a deeply emotional, raw, and beautiful experience. The whole family was utterly spellbound. Yet, what captivated us even more than the wild jungle itself was our dream team: Sandi, Justin, and Jacki—our ultimate guide, assistant, master chef, and jungle housekeeper combo. Their level of respect for the environment was a masterclass. While we sadly witnessed other "eco-friendly" groups practicing the habit of burning plastic right in the middle of the rainforest (because nothing screams "nature" like the refreshing aroma of toxic smoke with your morning coffee), our crew packed out absolutely everything. They didn't even leave behind the banana leaves used as plates for our fruit snacks. No feeding the wildlife for cheap tourist thrills—just pure, genuine respect. Sandi is an absolute legend. We shared everything from hilarious banter to deep, serious conversations. Boys, you aren't just guides; you are single-handedly holding the reputation of this place together. Keep doing exactly what you're doing. You are phenomenal!

It was truly amazing! Nasir is an awesome guide. He is so knowledgeable about the forest and the animals, and he was always looking out for more opportunities while we ate or rested. We saw so many animals thanks to him! We saw orang utans, thomas leaf monkeys, pigtail makakes, hornbills, chameleons, flying dragons … but at the same time he never tried to lure animals and always kept a distance. I am so grateful for everything he made possible. Nasir also offered to carry my backpack when he learned that I had injured my knees two years ago. And on top of that he’s just hilarious and a very kind person. Couldn’t have had a better guide than Nasir! He always made sure that our food was vegan as well, which was a relief. And the food was amazing, we couldn’t believe it. Jerry is such a good cook, we were so happy with every meal he provided for us. We were very well cared for. We got tea and snacks first thing in the morning while waiting for breakfast, lunch and fruits on trek and an amazing dinner. Everything was delicious! And we got vegan protein as well (tempeh and tofu), which is rare because most times people just leave out eggs, meat etc and we are left with rice and some veggies. But not Jerry! He made sure to make great vegan options while still offering non-vegan food to the other group members. We took 4 days, not 3, but I could not pick that in the drop down menu. We already saw a lot of animals on the first day, but nevertheless I think 4 days are a good length. The first day was a bit crowded, as was the first camp, but we were there in peak season. That’s also why I recommended doing more than one night as there are less people around on day two, three and four. The trek was challenging at some points. If it had rained it would have been so much more difficult, because the steep descent would have been so slippery. Make sure you’re ready to climb your way up and down the hill! Nasir always checked in on us if we were still good to go. On our fourth day of we could decide if we wanted to do another hike or just chill at camp and swim in the river. We were all a bit drained so we decided to swim and enjoy a quiet morning. We had the third campsite all to ourselves! The campsites are simple but located at beautiful spots, the cold river is amazing after daylong hikes. We were four people in the group and had two guides. Risky always walked behind to make sure no one fell behind. The only negative thing were people from other companies who used shampoo and showergel in the river. How hard can it be to respect and care for the nature you claim to love so much? The water is very clear, the landscape so beautiful. You can manage to not wash your hair for a few days. And if you cannot, you should not do this trek — it’s easy as that. It was truly one of the best things I ever experienced in my life and would recommend to everyone.

We were on the 3-day tour with our daughter (8) and friends in July. It was incredible. The entire organization was perfect. Our guides Ipnu and Eza, as well as our two cooks, were incredibly attentive. There was fantastic food prepared with a lot of love. The two guides were super sweet and helpful. They took us to great places in the jungle and we saw many orangutans, gibbons, and many other jungle animals. We will never forget this adventure and are very grateful to everyone for these great days in Bukit Lawang.

An incredible 3-day jungle trek from start to finish. We were fortunate to see orangutans every day, along with plenty of other wildlife. We were a group of six, and the atmosphere throughout the trek was fantastic. A big thank you to our guides, Ibnu, Eza, Brema and Ade, for their kindness, expertise and enthusiasm throughout the trek. Special thanks as well to Eduan, whose delicious meals exceeded all expectations. Everything was very well organized, and the entire team made this an unforgettable experience. Definitely the highlight of my Southeast Asia trip! The guides were some of the best people I met throughout my travels—so welcoming, accommodating, and always happy to help. From picking up my laundry to driving us wherever we needed to go, nothing was ever too much trouble. The food was incredible, and everything was so well organized from start to finish. A special shout-out to Rido (a.k.a. Jungle Boy), Waka, and the incredible chef Jerry. You all made this an unforgettable experience. Thank you!

The hike is a lot of up and down along steep, rugged intense incline and decline. It is hot and hard going. Having said that the hike was soooooo much fun. The guides are great and respectful of the wildlife (which is not the case with all guides from other companies). I felt safe and well looked after all the time. The food was amazing (Im a vegan and I was provided with delicious food abd they even went out of their way to make vegan snacks for me). I would highly recommend and if I come back here I would go with them again. The whole company is great and helped me with further travel plans. They are always happy to help and can help with accommodation in the local area with a range of prices. I changed the date of my tour due to having a hurting toe and it was not a problem to change the date and they checked in with me befire the tour

Me and my friend booked the 3 day tour and it was the most amazing experience we have ever done! We arranged direct pick up from the airport and from the moment we got there they were waiting and it was such a smooth journey! The accommodation before the trek was clean and so organised. Our tour guides Rahmat and Sandy were honestly the best super friendly and always made sure we had the best time. The food on the whole trip was so tasty and amazing with lots of variety and fresh fruit special shoutout to Jeri the cook! The jungle camps were so organised and well kept we could not fault it at all! And yes we seen so many orangutans with many other monkeys and animals. If you book with this company I guarantee you have the best time and such a smooth journey.
