Success to Everest Base Camp

My trek to Everest Base Camp was the most amazing, successful and memorable experience. Throughout the trek my guide, Kamal Tiwari was friendly, kind, funny and easy going. Kamal checked on my health the entire time and adapted the itinerary to suit my needs. I felt comfortable with Kamal and would recommend him as a guide. I would highly recommend outfitter Nepal for a trek as I found them to be professional, helpful and delivered exceptional customer service.

Exceptional Everest Base Camp Experience with Outfitter Nepal

I recently completed the Everest Base Camp trek with my fantastic friends and overall it was a memorable experience for our group with Outfitter Nepal treks and expedition. From the very beginning, the team was responsive and well-organised. Communication before the trip was smooth, and they provided clear guidance on preparation, packing, and what to expect, which made planning much easier. During the trek, our guide Home, Indra and Dhana were outstanding. They were knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely caring. They constantly checked on our condition, especially with altitude and health, and adjusted the pace when needed. This gave us a strong sense of safety and confidence throughout the journey. Our porters were also amazing — hardworking, reliable, and always with a smile despite the tough conditions. The itinerary was well-paced, allowing proper acclimatisation, which is critical for EBC. I particularly appreciated the flexibility when plans needed to change — including arranging a helicopter descent on the final day, which was handled efficiently and professionally. Luxury Accommodation and meals were as expected for a high-altitude trek, and overall logistics were managed smoothly. The team did a great job coordinating everything in a challenging environment. Overall, I highly recommend Outfitter Nepal for anyone planning the EBC trek. Their professionalism, care, and experience made a challenging journey both safe and enjoyable. Special thanks to my guide Hom and Dhana for taking special care for me during my little sick days. Thank you again to the whole team for an unforgettable adventure!

Great 1st timer experience

We had absolutely amazing time with Raj and his team. This was my first trekking experience and I walked away feeling thankful, especially to our guides, Mr. Ohm & Mr. Indra. They made sure we were physically okay and always ready to help anyone that might have been struggling. They helped meet our diet preferences and provided great meals 3 times a day. Sherpas were amazing carrying all our bags and transporting them to our next stop without any hiccups or lost luggage type of scenarios. We did not have to worry about anything because we were prepared well in advance with what to carry and what to expect each day. We enjoyed beautiful Lodges, especially in Phakding and Lukla. I highly recommend the luxury package to enhance your overall experience.

Epic journey to Everest Base Camp with Outfitter Nepal with Luxury package - We will be back!

We did the luxury package with Raj and his team. We started off with just my husband and I but then slowly added more and more people to where it was quite a few of us and Raj was very accommodating. He made sure we were prepared well, and we had a great time with his guides, Mr. Ohm and Mr. Indra along with all of our Sherpas we were very well taken care of and prepared during the journey. I would highly recommend the luxury option for a few extra hundred dollars, so well worth the extra comfort along the way. We will definitely be back.

Luxury EBC Trek Exceeds Expectations

I recently completed the "Everest Luxury Trek with Helicopter Return - 11 Days" trek with Outfitter Nepal, and overall I had an excellent experience from start to finish. First, I want to highlight the logistics and communication. Everything was coordinated by Raj via email and WhatsApp, and he was incredibly responsive throughout the entire process. I had a lot of questions before and during the trip, and he was always patient, helpful, and quick to reply, even at odd hours. This became especially important while I was in Nepal. My helicopter return from Lukla required real-time coordination due to weather and flight logistics, and Raj handled everything from Kathmandu while I was sitting at the airport waiting for updates. That level of support was reassuring. As for the trek itself, I’d say the “luxury trek” branding absolutely lived up to its name, especially at the lower altitudes. The accommodations in Phakding and Namche were beautiful, and the food was excellent. As we climbed higher, the accommodation naturally became more basic, but that’s simply the reality of trekking in the Himalayas. There are no roads, and everything at those elevations has to be carried in or flown in by helicopter. By the final night in Gorakshep, the lodging was extremely basic (no insulation and no running water), but there are no luxury options at that altitude. That’s not a criticism of the company — just something future trekkers should understand going in. I was traveling solo and had both a private guide and porter, which honestly felt luxurious in itself. My guide, Ram, was outstanding. Most importantly, I always felt safe and well looked after. He consistently communicated what we’d be doing each day, what I should wear, what to pack in my day bag, and how I should expect to feel physically. He checked in on me frequently and did an excellent job pacing the trek properly. He regularly reminded me to keep my breathing steady, avoid elevating my heart rate too much, and remember that “it’s not a race.” He never walked too far ahead or behind me. Most of the trek we walked side by side. We also spent a lot of time talking about life, family, Nepal, and his background, which made the experience feel much more personal and meaningful. He even offered to meet up again in Kathmandu afterward for a meal, either at a restaurant or at his home. Unfortunately, I started feeling unwell after returning to Kathmandu, so I ended up resting instead. My porter, Dawa, was also fantastic. In many trekking companies, porters are barely seen by trekkers, but Dawa spent most of the trek walking alongside us. He’s also a guide himself, so he was incredibly knowledgeable about the region and the trek. He was friendly, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable to spend time with. Getting to know him was one of the unexpected highlights of the experience. I also appreciated that Outfitter Nepal is a locally owned company. I prefer supporting local businesses whenever possible, and it felt good knowing my money was directly supporting a Nepalese operator and staff. A couple final thoughts about the trek itself: the pacing of the itinerary felt perfect. I never felt rushed and had plenty of time to take in the scenery and enjoy the experience. The acclimatization schedule worked very well for me. I had zero issues with altitude sickness the entire trek. I also got fortunate with sleep, which definitely helped. And finally, the helicopter return was incredible. Not only were the helicopter flights themselves absolutely beautiful, but skipping the long descent back down made this itinerary ideal for me personally. Overall, this felt like the perfect Everest Base Camp experience: a well-paced trek, the best accommodations realistically available, excellent support staff, and a spectacular helicopter return to Kathmandu. I would absolutely recommend Outfitter Nepal, especially my guide Ram and my porter Dawa.

Namaste Gregory, Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and thoughtful review about your Everest Luxury Trek with Helicopter Return experience with us. We are truly grateful for your kind words and very happy to hear that you had an excellent experience from beginning to end. It was my great pleasure to assist you throughout the trip planning and during your time in Nepal. Weather and flight logistics in the Everest region can sometimes be unpredictable, especially with helicopter operations, so I am very happy to know that our communication and support helped make you feel reassured and comfortable during the journey. We are also delighted to hear your honest thoughts about the “luxury trek” experience. As you mentioned very well, while the accommodations at lower elevations can be very comfortable and luxurious, the higher Himalayan regions such as Gorakshep are naturally more basic due to the remoteness and challenging mountain environment. Thank you for explaining this so clearly for future trekkers as well. Your kind words about Ram and Dawa truly mean a lot to us. Both of them are experienced, hardworking, and genuinely caring team members, and they will be extremely happy to hear your appreciation. We always believe that trekking is not only about reaching the destination, but also about creating meaningful human connections and unforgettable memories along the way. We are especially grateful that you chose to support a locally owned Nepali company. Your support directly helps our guides, porters, staff members, and their families, and it means a great deal to all of us. Thank you once again for trekking with Outfitter Nepal and for recommending our company, guide Ram, and porter Dawa so highly. We sincerely hope to welcome you back to Nepal again in the future for another Himalayan adventure. Raj

A trek to remember - with a troubling aftermath

The Himalayas were nothing short of spectacular. Stunning views at every turn, and an experience that truly lives up to its once-in-a-lifetime reputation. We booked the 14-day trek with Outfitter Nepal, which included 11 days of actual walking. The remaining 3 days felt somewhat unnecessary in our opinion, and could likely be trimmed without detracting from the experience. The farewell dinner left something to be desired. The only representative from the company was the owner himself, who unfortunately came across as disengaged - frequently on his phone and leaving mid-dinner to join another table. Our guide and porter were both friendly and helpful throughout the trek. That said, language barriers due to limited English made deeper communication difficult. The return journey from Ramechhap was unfortunately marred by a significant navigation mishap, leaving us far up on unpaved mountain roads despite being only 10 kilometers from the airport after two hours of driving. To be clear: the Himalayas were spectacular, and the trek itself is an experience I would wholeheartedly recommend. But the mountains deserve credit, not necessarily the company. A breathtaking landscape does not automatically translate into a well-run operation, and future travelers should not conflate the two. I would encourage anyone considering this trek to do so - but to choose their operator carefully. Update following my review (originally 3 stars): After posting this review, I was contacted by the owner of Outfitter Nepal asking me to reconsider my rating. This is against TripAdvisor's guidelines, and I found it inappropriate. What followed only reinforced my concerns about how this company is managed. It is also worth noting that we were asked to leave a review three days before the trek had even finished. We declined, as we believe reviews should reflect the complete experience. Being asked mid-trek can make it harder to provide fully honest feedback if problems arise later in the trip. Shortly after posting, the guide contacted me repeatedly with increasingly distressing messages. He claimed he had lost his job because of my review and asked me to delete it, citing his family responsibilities and young daughter. When I raised this with the owner, he denied it and assured me the guide remains employed. Despite this, the messages continued. I want to be fair: I cannot say with certainty what happened internally, and it is possible the guide acted independently. However, the pattern of contact - first from the owner asking me to revise my rating, then from the guide asking me to delete the review entirely - points to a management culture that prioritizes its reputation over honest feedback. Whether guides are pressured to intervene, or whether the dismissal claim was genuine, the responsibility for either outcome lies with leadership. A single 3-star review is not reasonable grounds for dismissing an employee. If that is what happened, it reflects poorly on how this company treats its staff. If it did not, and the guide's messages were instead part of an effort to pressure a guest into removing a review, that is equally concerning. Future travelers should be aware of this before booking.

Dear Frank, Thank you very much for your feedback about your trip, and Yes, You booked the 14-Day Everest Base Camp Trek with us, which includes 11 days of trekking, followed by a flight from Lukla to Ramechhap and a drive back to Kathmandu. During the peak season in April, all Lukla flights operate via Ramechhap instead of Kathmandu, and unfortunately, this is beyond our control. We invite all our clients for a complimentary dinner, and it was truly a pleasure to meet you during that time. You have written: "who unfortunately came across as disengaged", what does mean, I was the first corresponded with you, but unfortunately, I did not meet you in my office, because my partner Mr. Ng, met you and fully described you about the trip, however, I was not a stranger person, who came unfortunately at your diner, and I introduced with you that, I am Mr. Raj, who corresponded with you, so, I totally denied your one blamed that, I never ever rude with my clients since my 26 years carrier in tourism sector as a porter, being guide, and as an owner. At the same, we had other guests as well, I had spent more time with you rather than other clients, off course, in the high season there are many other people as well, I should have to attend them as well. I sincerely apologize if I seemed distracted at any point, as I had to attend to a few urgent matters on my phone, because I need to look after all company responsible. If this made you feel uncomfortable, I am truly sorry. During our conversation, I asked about your trekking experience, and you mentioned that the trip was fantastic. We always value honest feedback from our guests because it helps us improve our services. Had we known about your concerns earlier, we would certainly have tried our best to address them during your stay. I fully understand and respect that guests have the right to share their honest opinions and experiences. At the same time, I also hope guests can sometimes understand the situations and responsibilities we manage during the busy trekking season. If you genuinely felt uncomfortable or disappointed during the dinner, I truly wish you had shared your concerns with me directly at that moment. I believe open and honest communication is always more helpful and genuine, as it gives us an opportunity to understand and improve immediately. I have been running this business for 18 years, and I fully understand that it is not possible to make every client completely happy all the time. We are providing services, not products, and unexpected situations can happen during any trip. Because of this, I have never blamed to any clients or guides. My earlier message was only a friendly and humble request asking whether you might reconsider your thoughts about our services if you felt there was any positive aspect worth reflecting on, but it was not forcefully. However, whatever you feel genuinely about me, our crew members, or our company, you absolutely have the right to express in your TripAdvisor review, and I fully respect that. I also want to clarify that we never told to our any guide that would lose his job because of bad reviews. If we have done previous than how we do have still 25 guides, so, it would be absolutely wrong thoughts. Once again, I would like to sincerely say that whatever you truly feel about our services, you are free to share openly in your review. It is entirely your right, and I have no objection to that. Hope to see you again in Nepal for another adventure. Raj

Great EBC trek!!

I had a great experience with Outfitter Nepal. Owner Angie met me for a warm welcome before the trip. I had Kamal as a guide and Buddha as my porter. Kamal was the best guide! He was very knowledgeable about the area and had many insights into plants and animals, whenever I had questions. He was very easy to get along with and we had so many laughs together. He went above and beyond and always tried to make my trip as great as possible. Buddha was an amazing porter as well, I had such a great team for my solo trip! Reaching Everest Base Camp with this team was truly a once in a lifetime experience. I highly recommend this company.

Best Local Guiding Company!

I highly recommend Outfitter Nepal! We really wanted to go with a local Nepali company and we are so glad we went with Outfitter. Raj was so organized and quick to respond to all our questions. Our guide, Nakul, was seriously the best! He was so kind, knowledgeable, funny, and made us feel cared for the whole time. He answered all our questions (we had a lot every day) and shared about Nepali culture. Having a guide made the experience so enjoyable. We didn’t have to think about a thing. Nakul also took so many photos and videos of us to have as memories forever. Our porter, Kailash, was also incredible. We were in awe every day at how quickly he transported our gear. We had the best trek and so much of that had to do with Outfitter.
