Absolutely wonderful day in nature with Gabriel! He listened to our desires and abilities and customized the perfect hike for us (family of 4 with kids ages 11 and 13). We did a not very intense/steep 6 mile walk near Bran Castle. We got a beautiful view of the castle, stunning mountains and valleys and a very pretty little running stream. He knows the area very well (he showed us his grandparents house along the route) and guided us to eating wild strawberries and cherries along the route. One of our favorite days in Romania!
Our tour guide, Eni, was amazing! She tailored the entire experience to our hiking abilities and what we wanted to see! Highly recommend booking the private hike!
Obi was an incredibly funny and hospitable guide and the hike was spectacular, taking in gorges, meadows and forests in the national park. It's definitely a challenge with steep and rocky terrain so be prepared for this and any weather scenarios but bearing this in mind, I'd reccomend to anyone with an appropriate level of fitness.
Radu was such a gem. He was very knowledgeable and he knew exactly what we were looking for. We said we were looking for a medium hike for 5-6 hours and he did just that. The hike in the canyon was so good! He also gave us lots of information around nature and survival skills. He has great respect to nature and I deeply appreciate that. Definitely will find him when I visit Romania again!
Great day walk with Tudor as our guide. He's a climber and qualified guide, and provided a beautiful autumn walk, tailored to suit an over 70s and a 30 something, and taking us on a circular route we would not have found on our own. He guided me round a few metres of exposed path which I would never have managed without his help, and came well prepared for bears, so that we felt absolutely safe at all times. Tudor is also lovely company, happy to share a wealth of information about the national park and its wildlife, Transylvania and Brasov. Highly recommended.
We did the medium private day tour. Our guide Tudor was excellent. Chose a great walk that gave us wildlife and scenery. He knew lots of information about the area and we had some great discussions on nature, history and local life. He also helped us understand the history of the country and area and then did a detour on the way back to drop us at a historic fortified village so we had a great walk and a fascinating historical experience. Great day. I’d happily recommend this to anyone.
Fantastic experience at Piatra Craiului National Park thanks to our amazing guide, Radu Ursu. Good profesional and marvellous partner. We have very good moments and beautiful landscapes to remember.
The best of the entire trip! We did it with Valentín who is a professional, very friendly and attentive. The landscape is spectacular, any photo you see does not do it justice... I would repeat without hesitation
The guide was careless and senseless. By his behavior we risked to be mauled by a pack of huge shepherd dogs. The only reason this didn’t happen was that a puppy and her mother had tagged along us and kept us company. Despite the fair warning of the shepherd dogs, he said to move forward ‘cause he knew what to do. The mother of the puppy was clearly unsure but followed with her puppy ‘cause she trusted us, we had fed them a few minutes earlier. The huge dogs came to us, circled us, they were about to attack us, when the puppy got scared and ran away. They pursued him instead, and killed him. After that, the guide was still giving nature the fault of this, while it was his recklessness; he was prompting me to continue the tour and go for mushrooms, showing eagles to me when I was just plain shocked, while the puppy was literally being mauled and his mother wailing. I had to insist to stop the tour and be taken home. We risked our lives, got a puppy killed despite having been fairly warned by the pack of the shepherd dogs, and he still was as cool as fresh air. The experience was shocking and this is the last time I’ll count on TripAdvisor or any other gig economy company for a tour experience. They make selection of the guides through reviews and this is completely unprofessional. All of this is true by my honor and I am ready to testify it again and again.
My partner and I shared a good days hiking with our excellent guide Radu, who shared his knowledge of the outdoors and Romanian culture. The trek was well-matched to our overall ability and took in various points of interest, with a chance to study the local flora and fauna.
