Great way to see the city on foot in an easy way. Far better than sitting in a taxi all day plus it included a bus and boat ride!
What a wonderful introduction to Kolkata! Polo, my guide, was just wonderful—so knowledgeable, personable, flexible, and open. She shared so much of the city’s history with me, couched in poetry and theater. The itinerary was great—I enjoyed walking with her and really appreciated her smooth maneuvering of the chaotic Kolkata streets! I was exposed to famous sights and also had the opportunity to experience really authentic areas rarely visited by tourists. I took a bus, ferry, and cab and felt like a local. The price was amazingly inexpensive for such a lengthy, quality tour. I would thoroughly recommend it and hope you get Polo as your guide!
It was an absolutely fabulous day! My guide Manush ( sorry if this is spelled wrong!) was so knowledgeable and made the history come alive with his great stories. I learned so much and went places that were not on other tours. I highly recommend this tour!
Paulami was truly inspiring and introduced us to parts of Calcutta I would never have visited on my own, along with stories I otherwise would never have heard. I also really appreciated that we traveled around just like the locals—by bus, ferry, and yellow cab—which made the experience even more authentic. If you want to discover the real Calcutta, this is the tour to take. Highly recommended!
The best thing you can do to get to know Calcutta away from the usual sights. Mayukh, the local tour guide has guided us on foot, by bus, taxi and ferry through various corners of Calcutta. Never would you have found these places alone. Super nice student! He speaks fluent English and responds to the wishes of the group. Interesting insights into the history of the city, which you do not know as a European. I'm totally thrilled. With the heat and the many impressions quite exhausting. But you will never forget this experience!
A totally wonderful tour visiting so many places we would never discover on our own! Both Anushtup and Mayukh were brilliant👏👏👏
Nandita Chandra is one of the best tour guides we have ever experienced. She is an actor by trade, which imbued her stories with a fresh perspective. She was extremely knowledgeable, and encouraged inquires. Her command of India's history was amazing - and she made the stories come alive. This is the tour to take to see the real lives of local people, and to learn some things that *probably* weren't included in your History 101. If you're looking for adventure, this is the tour for you! It includes rides on a local bus, cab, and boat - hang on to your hat! This is definitely a 5 star tour. Take it!!!
An amazing tour that included some really interesting parts of the city I don’t think I would have visited on my own. Paulami was fantastic, she provided so much information on the history of kolkata and more importantly did it in an engaging and fun way. A must do!
It was awesome! Moinak and I hit it off right away and found many topics that interest us both. Super pleasant guy! Plus lots of information about the places visited, but not cluttered. The tour was adapted to things that interest me in general, without making any concrete suggestions. He showed me the real side of Kolkata, a deep dive into everyday life and how a local sees the city. No places with mass tourism, no rattling off of countless monuments, but visiting places that make up the city. For me it was the first thing I did in Kolkata. Get off the plane, get in the cab and meet Moinak. A reception in this town couldn't have been better. A thousand thanks!
