Giovanna was delightful. She took us to all the places we requested, and shared gréât historical information. We enjoyed her company very much. Highly recommend her!
This was a great way to see small villages and the countryside. You need to be agile and reasonable level of fitness to climb into 4x4. Guides were great and the views were worth it.
We decided to go for this because it was described as off-beat and quirky rather than the standard city tour. It was neither. First up, the 'local' (an ex-pat from England) turned up at the appointed place and time but without any identifying marker/badge etc. So we wandered around looking for them for 15' Eventually, I found the photo they sent and we realised we'd been standing next to them for most of that time. Once under way, the narrative was largely about their own experiences, mostly unrelated to the city we were touring. The highlights were the botanic garden and the ice cream shop. Overall though, we were pretty bored.
For our visit to Cádiz we booked a 3-hour tour with our friendly guide Enrique, who was happy to share his enthusiasm about the city, its history and its people. It was very relaxed, and we had every opportunity to ask questions. Enrique showed us a variety of things, ranging from local culture and architecture to beach and everyday city life. On special request, he even guided us to an excellent restaurant and a local shop that sells a very rare fish speciality. As for the city, Cádiz is well worth a visit and easy to explore on foot, and with a guide like Enrique there is no hurry, he doesn't have a tight schedule. Do pay attention though, he might subject you to a short exam after the tour, to make sure you take some of that new knowledge home with you. Thank you, Enrique!
An amazing experience - our tour guide was excellent and I would defiantly do another one in the future.
Katrina was a very personable, professional and knowledgeable. She was a thoughtful guide and gave us an very personalized tour. She listened to our requests and made sure we did the things we wanted to do. Now we love Cadiz and hope to return. Lots of great food and drink to experience.
To be honest our expectations were quite high based on the reviews we read beforehand on Lokafy. We were however very dissapointed in the 3 hour tour we had with Tony. Although he was very friendly and amicable, we did not feel we had somenone show us around as a local. Of course we are aware that Lokafy tours are not the normal historical tours, but his knowledge of Cadiz was very limited and we were left with very many unanswered questions (to the point that we did not ask anymore). We have done local tours in many places in the area (amongst which Sevilla, Malaga, Gibraltar) where we were always left with a smile on our face. The walk around Cadiz was something we could have easily done by ourselves as it did not add much that we could not have discovered on our own. We felt cheated in our experience of what is presumably an amazing place to visit. We plan on returning another time to discover the city once more.
A great day with Catrina. I had an excellent day with Catrina who showed me around with a local’s eye with stories of the life there that really brought Cadiz to life and got beyond the stock history you normally get. She knew all the best spots and ready mad the day fly by. Fully recommended, when stock history tours get too much.
Wonderful experience of a chilly, enjoyable and interesting walking tour around Cadiz with a local student who is showing you the Cadi she likes. A little bit of history. No museums. No churches (it was a sunset tour between 8 and 10pm). This is the kind of activity I like, giving me the desire to see more the next day following the advices I got today. It’s a 2hours interesting conversation about the city but also a social experience to walk along with somebody who lives in and love the city. It’s highly recommended for solo travelers or for a couple. Not for a big group… Many thanks to my guide Malak who was so kind to explain me a bit of Cadiz history but moreover to discuss over trees, flowers, fishermen, and university work among tens of other things. Maiak was exactly the right girl at the right place .
This tour was delightful! We really didn't know what to expect with a Lokafy tour, but it was outstanding. It reminded me of visiting a new city with a friend and having them just walk with us around the city telling stories and places they liked, not just touristy areas. We had the pleasure of spending the day with Jack. He was so personable! He had a lot of knowledge of Cadiz and its history. We especially enjoyed the botanical gardens, seeing the market, and hearing about the religious holidays and the pageantry that goes along with them. Jack was very helpful with ordering lunch and recommendations for local cuisine (since our Spanish is nonexistent). It was a great way to spend the day.
