Disfrutaremos de vistas de paisajes espectaculares, cordilleras escarpadas y colinas suavemente inclinadas de campos de trigo y canola que se parecen un poco a las olas del océano. Nos detenemos por encima del paso de Sir Lowry para una oportunidad para tomar fotos y ver impresionantes vistas de False Bay que se encuentran debajo. Nuestra expedición continúa a través de los hermosos huertos de cítricos verdes, dorados y marrones del overberg, deteniéndose en un puesto de la granja para tomar un refrigerio. Continuamos con nuestro viaje a través de Caledon, la séptima ciudad más antigua de Sudáfrica, centro agrícola del área de Overberg y conocida por las aguas termales ricas en hierro. Nuestro recorrido nos llevará al faro de Cape Agulhas, que se ha mantenido durante más de 150 años como acompañante marítimo sobre el famoso 'Cabo de Tormentas', en el extremo más meridional de África. Este punto de encuentro oficial del Océano Índico y el Océano Atlántico es también el punto de convergencia de las corrientes de Mozambique y Benguela. Itinerario
Salimos de Ciudad del Cabo aproximadamente a las 07:30 de la mañana y conducimos hacia el sureste por la N2 a través del paso de Sir Lowry en dirección al Cabo Overberg. Disfrutaremos de vistas de paisajes espectaculares, cordilleras escarpadas y colinas suavemente inclinadas de campos de trigo y canola que se parecen un poco a las olas del océano. Nos detenemos por encima del pase de Sir Lowry para tomar una foto y disfrutar de las impresionantes vistas de False Bay que se encuentran debajo. Nuestra expedición continúa a través de los hermosos huertos de cítricos verdes, dorados y marrones del overberg, deteniéndose en un puesto de la granja para tomar un refrigerio. Continuamos con nuestro viaje a través de Caledon, la séptima ciudad más antigua de Sudáfrica, centro agrícola del área de Overberg y conocida por las aguas termales ricas en hierro en las laderas del Swartberg. Más adelante, visitamos el museo de naufragios en Bredasdorp. Ha habido aproximadamente 130 naufragios en la costa sur del Cabo desde 1673. Esta sección peligrosa de la costa se conoce como el "Cementerio de los barcos". El Museo también documenta la rica historia de la zona y tiene una colección de artefactos de naufragios y un tesoro de figuras y botes salvavidas, porcelana, cañones, anclas, botellas viejas y monedas de varios países europeos.
También pasaremos tiempo en la playa de Struisbaai con sus aguas cálidas y cristalinas, y su sensación tropical. El punto también es donde se encuentran el océano Índico y el Atlántico.
Después de una experiencia fantástica en el extremo sur de África, regresamos a Ciudad del Cabo pasando por la ciudad de Hermanus, famosa por la observación de ballenas, y conducimos por el pintoresco paseo de Clarence. Visitamos los pingüinos africanos en peligro de extinción en la Reserva Natural de Stony Point si el tiempo lo permite.

Picked up my A5 cabriolet at Audi Claremont and turned left...South African term for started my holiday...the drive over was nice and long upon arriving there the peace after the long drive was worth gold, seein how those waves crushed the boulders with force reminded me of how there will be no where to run to... there is a small interesting town there and nothing, not worth paying R7k, get a car and enjoy the drive
The true tip of Africa, not Cape Point, is well worth a visit and tastefully marked. A good place to propose as we saw one young couple become engaged across the two oceans! There are well marked trails in the area with some great sea views and a local lighthouse. A must visit if in the area. Not crazy hordes of coaches and tourists as at Cape Point (at least when we visited with a U3a group).

Elton is a treasure trove of South African history and more importantlu a delight to talk to. During our long drive out to Cape Agulhas, he helped us explore all the small towns and histories related to it. This gave us a view into the SA countryside. He was very courteous of our various requests to stop at photo points. A must tour if you want to have a frank and easygoing conversation with an amazing human being (and obviously the southern most point of the continent xD)

I had an amazing time during the tour, Elton was very knowledgeable and told me a lot of interesting facts about South Africa. The cape Aghulhas was great, impressive to see the two oceans side by side and the penguins were very cute. On the way back, elton went out of his way and drove along the coastline of false bay, wonderful view and wasn’t part of the tour initially, so very grateful for that experience. Would recommend that tour in addition to cape of good hope.
