Magic bus 😉

Early start for the 7 am departure . Get the coach near the university building the guides were v helpful directing you to the correct coach be punctual with a bit of spare time get there even earlier if you want to bolt down a coffee and a pastry no food allowed on the bus . It’s a long day nearly 12 hrs in total you get to go to Bran castle 1st then Braşov for 2 hrs and finally Perles castle which we voted ti sit out at the coffee shop . For £20 plus the castle admission fees it’s a great value day out and fills a day after the city on the 1st day

Well worth a visit!

Great day with our guide Stefania. We started off at Peleş castle (it’s closed on Monday and Tuesdays so only visited from outside) then onto Cantacuzino castle where Netflix series Wednesday was filmed. Absolutely stunning views of the Carpathian mountains! We then stopped off in Brasov and had some free time to wander and have lunch. We then headed to Bran Castle (Draculas castle) It’s a steep climb to the entrance so not suitable for folk with mobility issues. Stefania was very well organised and provided lots of information about all the places we visited. Alex the driver was also excellent! Would highly recommend this tour!

A MUST SEE!

We visited Bran Castle, near Brașov in the Carpathian Mountains, and we were very excited since we’re fans of both the Dracula movie and the book. Draculas Castle is a medieval fortress perched on a hill. When you enter, you can see the royal rooms where Queen Marie of Romania once lived. What we found especially interesting is that you can also see a painting showing what Dracula was supposed to look like.

Nice on the outside!

It is Castle outside is amazing and the surroundings with the gardens to walk around are nice and pleasant. The bad thing is that there are a lot of people, a lot of queue to enter, plus you have to buy the ticket in advance and indicating the time stretch in which you will go, here inside we could not enter. Enterprise with whom we contracted the tour sold us the tickets triple the box office price and we did not want to be scammed like this. But the place has a lot of charm and we invested the time we did not waste in entering inside, in being able to walk outside. There is no public bathroom, you have to go to the restaurant or the hotel, consuming something and also queuing a lotiiiiiiisima queue.

Great tour guide

Vlad our tour guide was amazing. He was so knowledgeable, kind and patient with some of the annoying and obnoxious guests. Peles castle was beautiful. Brasov also a beautiful.place but Bran castle was a total let down. Boring, hardly anything to see, really a tourist rip off! Don't bother with Bran castle, Peles is by far better!

Must-see

I enjoyed this 12-hour ride although it seemed morning. The tour is classic and a must when visiting Bucharest and the surrounding area

Nightmarish and unforgettable experience

Nothing to say about the beauty of the places, the rest was a nightmare. The guide Iulia started shouting and railing in an unworthy, inhumane and I don't know how to define it against everyone. Absolutely not suitable for this type of work and the driver was no less. They have levels of nervousness and rudeness that really hurt us. You lose so much

Very rushed but they did their best!

It was not actually excellent HOWEVER given all the constraints the guide had, I just have to give it to her (Iulia) and the driver (Florino). Like many other reviewers of a similar tour, it was a very rushed experience - especially at the Peles Castle, which seriously would need at least half a day on its own to appreciate its beauty, but of course we did not have the luxury of time. As a result, we did have to walk through all the different rooms and chambers briskly while Iulia explained as much as she could in both English and Italian (naturally not everyone was able to hear her as we were already a big group and there were other tourists pushing their way in or standing in between - it was really chaotic in such a small space!) What I appreciated from the trip was: 1) Iulia is not young yet she was just as fit as the fittest among us! 2) instead of trying to make extra bucks by selling overpriced tickets to the castle, this company asked us to book the tickets online ourselves (and she checked on everyone again in the bus) - even when Iulia offered to buy tickets to Bran Castle, she bought them in front of us so no mark-ups there. Other companies would have you buy the tickets through them with 50% or more mark-ups 3) she was very protective with our group and tried to secure a spot in the queue at Peles for us so we didn't have to wait much longer like everyone else - trust me, this mattered A LOT. 4) she also ensured whoever was not visiting Peles could go to Pelisor or kept informed of everything. As a result, we arrived just one hour behind schedule but I could feel that we had the maximum amount of time such an itinerary allows. A few things to make this tour even better: 1) have the group wear something like a small tag to keep everyone together as it was very easy to miss one or more people 2) a butterfly microphone in the castles or at least the castle ground would be nice if possible 3) wifi in the bus would also be nice as I lost signals every now and then.

A great day out in the Romanian mountains

An excellent trip and wonderful day. Our guide, Lulia, was very good and made sure everyone was having a good time and that we felt included. She was knowledgeable and gave us good information at all three of the locations. I’ve seen some reviews on here about people getting left behind in the morning - to be fair there is a 15min pick up window and we even stayed a little longer waiting for people who didn’t end up showing up on time. The information provided prior to booking was comprehensive and clear - we booked at 9:30pm the night before and still received enough info to be there on time with the exact pick up times. So, as we are all adults who are responsible for our own actions, I would say you are given ample information to be there on time and that this is not a reflection of what is a very good tour and a very good day. Overall would highly recommend!
