Amanecer en Borobudur desde la colina de setumbu, volcán Merapi y excursión de día completo a Prambanan

Excellent tour, made even better by my driver Matthias, who explained everything about each attraction very well and with great knowledge. I would definitely recommend this tour when visiting Yogyakarta!

🇨🇵 Merci Matthias ! We had a really great experience with this tour and would absolutely recommend it! The overall organization was excellent from beginning to end. Everything ran smoothly, the different activities were well coordinated, and we were able to enjoy each place without feeling rushed or wasting time waiting around. A big part of what made the day so enjoyable was our guide, Matthias. He speaks excellent English, which made communication very easy throughout the day. He answered all of our questions, gave us lots of interesting information and useful advice, and was also genuinely fun to spend the day with. We really enjoyed chatting with him, joking around and hearing about some of his own interests and experiences. He was also extremely flexible and attentive to what we wanted. If we wanted to stop somewhere to eat, take a little more time or adjust something during the day, he was always happy to help and really did his best to make sure we had a great experience. A perfect example of this was at the end of the tour. We had a train to catch that evening, and even though it wasn't originally planned, Matthias offered to drop us directly at the train station instead of the usual drop-off point so that we could save time. We really appreciated this kind of attention and flexibility. Our day started with sunrise from the hill overlooking Borobudur. Unfortunately, the weather was quite cloudy that morning, so we didn't get the full sunrise we had hoped for, but of course that was nobody's fault. We still caught part of it, and the mist over the landscape actually made the scenery really beautiful and atmospheric. We then visited Borobudur itself. Everything was very well organized. While we walked around the gardens, Matthias took care of collecting what we needed for the temple visit, so we barely had to wait. We had a local guide inside Borobudur who was very interesting and explained the site really well. Even though there were quite a lot of visitors, we never felt like the different groups were getting in each other's way. The whole visit was very well organized, and Borobudur itself was absolutely beautiful. After that, we visited Prambanan, this time without a guide, which allowed us to explore the temples at our own pace. Again, it was a beautiful place and we really enjoyed walking around and taking our time. We also visited the Merapi area. Unfortunately, the weather was still cloudy, so we couldn't actually see Mount Merapi. However, the local jeep guide was incredibly kind and clearly wanted us to enjoy the experience despite the weather. We were still able to visit the Merapi Museum, but instead of taking us to another viewpoint where we wouldn't have been able to see the volcano anyway, he offered us an alternative activity at no extra cost. He took us on a really fun jeep ride through huge pools of water — we got completely soaked and laughed a lot! It turned what could have been a disappointing part of the day because of the weather into a really fun experience, and we were very grateful for that. Overall, despite being unlucky with the weather, we had an excellent experience from beginning to end. The tour was very well organized and the itinerary was great, but Matthias really made the day even better. He was friendly, interesting, funny, flexible and genuinely attentive to what we wanted throughout the entire tour. Thank you so much, Matthias, for such a great day! We would happily recommend this tour — and especially Matthias — to anyone visiting the area.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a fantastic day with Maxi visiting Borobudur, Mount Merapi and Prambanan. He is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and speaks excellent English. Throughout the day he shared lots of interesting information, answered all our questions and made everything easy and enjoyable. He also took us to great local spots for breakfast and lunch, and even stopped so we could try durian for the first time! Maxi is not only a great guide but also a genuinely pleasant person to spend the day with. We highly recommend him to anyone visiting Yogyakarta. Thank you for making our day so special! This trip was exceptionally well-organized from start to finish with seamless logistics. Our guide, Maxi, was outstanding—sharing rich local insights while accommodating all our requests with a warm, genuine smile. We cannot recommend this experience enough and strongly suggest requesting Maxi for an unforgettable tour!

I would definitely recommend this tour. Our driver and guide, Seta, did everything he could to make us feel comfortable and ensure we got the most out of each sight. He’s also a talented photographer! We were picked up before sunrise and brought back after sunset, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing during that time—Seta took care of everything for us. The individual temple complexes are very impressive and definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately, the clouds blocked our view of Mount Merapi. The jeep ride was still fun, though; the route was adjusted so that we skipped a lookout point and had a little off-road adventure in the river instead.

My friend and I enjoyed our day tour with Dani. He was very friendly, helpful and shared with us lots of information about the history of borobudur and prambanan. He was also very kind and bought us local fruit salak to try! Overall, it was a great trip from beginning till the end. Thank you, will recommend this tour to others!

Everything worked perfectly. My driver and guide was Fery. He is a very kind person and knows a lot about Buddhism and Hinduism. He could tell me many interesting things about the temples. For me, it was the perfect last day in Indonesia, as my flight back home was the next day. The jeep ride to Mount Merapi was not very spectacular, and unfortunately the volcano was hidden behind the clouds. But of course, that is not the tour operator’s fault. Borobudur and Prambanan, however, are absolutely incredible to see. So beautiful! Thank you for this great experience!

Beautiful visit of the temples. Matthias was a great guide: nice, clear, pubic and helpful. He gave us great advice not only about the day related to the visit, but throughout our stay in Indonesia.
