Large museum!! Could easily spend a few hours here. We didn't have enough time to experience the whole museum, but really enjoyed the Sue exhibit and of course the Pokemon Fossil Museum.
First time through the Field museum with my wife and 8 year-old son. We came for the Pokemon visit and stayed for natural history exhibits. Pokemon was a hit with our kid (millennial dad also had fun) and the store at the end took their pound of flesh. The dinosaur exhibit with Sue was enjoyable as was the exhibit on Ancient Egypt. A highly recommended family outing especially for history lovers.
Plants of the world is amazing. I didn’t see this in any other museums. Guest lockers is digitalized and so easy to use. Dinosaurs are unforgettable.
I visited solo and five hours was not enough for this incredibly organized museum! Learned so much and was so excited to see " Sue" the dino!
I had not been to the Field museum in many years and there is a lot to see. We spent a couple of hours looking at different exhibits (I find the layout of the museum a little confusing) and then had a snack I. The cafe. The coffee bar is a plus. Then we went to the second floor and saw “Sue” and other dinosaurs. I am really glad I took the time to go there again after so many years
The museum is a treat with the best dinosaur exhibit! Also don't miss the native american exhibit as well. Could have spent even more time here but don't leave without seeing SUE!
We visited here from NM. An outstanding day. Parked in garage near soldier field. Very short walk to Museum. Each exhibit area just got better as we progressed. The mammals were outstanding and the dinosaurs were stunning. We will be back.
The Field Museum is HUGE and contains a variety of natural history from mammals, birds, gems, great civilizations of the Americas, dinosaurs and other topics. You cant miss "Sue" the largest T-Rex skeleton in the world and other dinosaurs that are equally impressive. All exhibits are exceptionally displayed and maintained. This is a great place to spend as many hours as you wish, regardless of your age (so long as you can walk). And it is next door to the Shedd Aquarium and Soldier Field and a walk to the Planetarium and Grant Park/Buckingham Fountain.
SUE alone was worth the price of admission! The great hall as you entered was impressive. Very excellent collection of fossIls and dinosaur specimens.
Loved the dinosaur exhibit and Egyptian was pretty good…the animal exhibit was really good too. We enjoyed the under the earth exhibit as well. Overall it was a very good experience, and memory. Having a schedule of when things would happen in the concourse area would be helpful. We missed the animal cape try on and our nephew really wanted to see it.
