I was able to take part in a truly magnificent tour of the Animalia exhibition led by a cultural mediator. I never expected so much socially critical input paired with so much dedication and humor.

A fresh gallery in Vienna, opened relatively recently (22?). It's in the middle, next to Albertino. The building has been converted from garages into a very decent light structure. The courtyard is blooming and well-kept, and there are cute sculptures that create extra comfort. The gallery consists of paintings from the collection of the Vienna billionaire patron Heidi Horten. Represented by Klein, Klimt, Chagall, Picasso, Schiele. There are contemporary artists. The exhibition is not static. The exposures are changing. Looks like we weren't in the best of times. Reading the reviews expected more. The exhibition is small, not much time was spent on it. Which means it's not worth the 15 euros spent. It's just that the price is not commensurate with the quality. But that's my opinion. Here, in the reviews, many "experts" are thrilled.

The brightly colored walkway to the building and its flashy doors and the sculptures in the gardens are pretty modern for Vienna. It was the perfect time to visit the Heidi Horten collection since they stay open late (til 19:00 daily; 21:00 on Thursdays). The fact that there is a Klimt painting among the collection didn't hurt. We saw works by Munch, Nolde, Kirchner, Warhol, Baquiat, Haring, Picasso, Magritte, Dufy, Lichtenstein, and Chagall, among others. There were definitely some contemporary works that make you think. It was worth the hour or so that we spent there.

So disappointing. Only a fragment of an exceptional collection, exhibited on one floor, without curatorial concept. major pieces missing and two floors used for an extremely average temporary collection about animals in the art. Never again

On the ground floor, our permanent exhibition KLIMT – WARHOL presents around 50 masterpieces from our own collection, guiding visitors through key developments in 20th-century art. Works by artists such as Gustav Klimt, Francis Bacon, Marc Chagall, Damien Hirst, Yves Klein, Joan Miró, Max Pechstein, Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko, and Andy Warhol invite a deeper engagement with this period. The Heidi Horten Collection Museum is impressive and of the highest standard. Really worth seeing and contemporary art at its best. The architecture and detailed execution of the museum is also extremely perfect. An absolute must in Vienna.
