We had an excellent time with Cooper. I would highly recommend his tour for anyone that is interested in history and the true facts vs the storybook version.

Cooper was an excellent host and has a deep knowledge and love of history and where he lives. We really enjoyed the tour and picked up a lot of interesting information and knowledge. It is always interesting to hear perspectives of history from another nation’s viewpoint. It is true for example that the UK was a far larger participant in the trans Atlantic slave trade than the USA but it is also true that the USA had a far larger domestic population of enslaved people which persisted much longer. I will be reading Cooper’s blogs in future with interest!
At the beginning of the tour we were asked what we wanted to learn most about. The tour guide did a great job incorporating that into his tour. Super hot day so the tour guide made sure we stood in shady areas and refilled our water bottles. Very kind and animated.
The guide was very knowledgeable, funny, and encouraged questions. Not only did he give a deep, broad explanation of Charleston’s history and share stories of local culture, he also gave recommendations for where to eat.
Wear your best walking shoes and enjoy the most colorful history of Charleston with Cooper. His stories will fascinate, challenge and motivate you to delve further into what you've learned in history books. All told with a side of humor ;)
This tour was excellent! Our guide was very knowledgeable and had a very comedic style which made the almost 3 hour tour a lot of fun! I learned so much about the history of Charleston. So glad I selected this particular tour and tour guide!
This guide was very knowledgable because he taught at UNC history dept. and is native to the area. Sometimes hard to hear him so microphones would have been great!
Very informative, interactive and a nice pace. One of the first things Cooper pointed out to the group is that history is made from people. Relating that to what we we seeing put things in a great perspective. I would book again
This was a hugely informative tour with lots of insight into history from the settlement of Charleston through the Revolutionary and Civil Wars to the present day. Cooper brought Charleston to life for every era. He made the tour very interactive, which was fun and added to our enjoyment. I highly recommend!
Excellent tour through history & I learned a lot. You think you already know, but the history is much more interesting than what you learned in school
