Somos descendientes de los esclavos traídos al Cabo por los primeros colonos holandeses a Bo-Kaap, y nos sentimos conectados con la rica historia de la zona. Es este profundo amor el que alimenta nuestro deseo de compartir con ustedes esta cultura bella e intrincadamente tejida que no tiene parangón en ninguna parte del mundo. Como residentes y guías turísticos calificados con muchos años de experiencia, le mostraremos Bo-Kaap más allá de las imágenes de la postal.

Nos reuniremos en 71 Wale Street para una introducción al área, brindando una descripción general de la historia de Ciudad del Cabo y Bo-Kaap.
Bo-Kaap es un suburbio hermoso, pintoresco y colorido que se encuentra al pie de Signal Hill en el City Bowl de Ciudad del Cabo. Sin embargo, su historia está impregnada de la esclavitud y también es conocida como la "Cuna del Islam" en el Cabo. Personas esclavizadas, artesanos y exiliados políticos fueron traídos aquí desde África, India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia y Malasia, entre otros lugares.

My Bo-Kaap: Walk With A Local tour was outstanding. Ms. Shamila, my excellent tour guide, is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and through her storytelling, I learned a wealth of knowledge in a few hours' time. Learning about the origins of Bo-Kaap and experiencing its strong sense of community was truly admirable. Ms. Shamila reminded me that travel is truly the best education. This is a tour that will always have a special place in my heart ❤️.
We had a nice tour of Bo Kaap, and learned about the history, religion, and culture of the area, and our guide pointed out some nearby sites that we were interested in visiting.

One of the best experiences in Cape Town to gain a real appreciation for the BoKaap community. Our guide grew up in BoKaap and would share greetings with friends as he showed us around his neighborhood. The in-depth history was enlightening and the resilience and vibrancy of this community was inspiring. It was beautiful and delicious - our wonderful guide treated us to a warm koesister at the end of our tour.
What a nice guide we had! We were shown around by Ilyas, himself born and raised in Bo Kaap, very personal, showed us the neighborhood, told us a lot about the background, history, the faith. Would book with him again!
