Sachsenhausen fue el primer campo de concentración construido específicamente, creado como un centro de terror, persecución y brutalidad sistemática. Inicialmente, encarceló a aquellos que el régimen nazi consideraba racial, social o políticamente indeseables. Viaja por la ciudad de Oranienburg y aprende cómo la comunidad local estaba conectada al campamento. Su guía experto y autorizado lo guiará a través de lugares clave, incluidas las celdas de castigo, la enfermería, los cuarteles, la cámara de gas y los crematorios, mientras comparte poderosas historias de resiliencia y coraje entre los prisioneros. El recorrido también visita la Inspección de Campos de Concentración, el centro administrativo que controlaba el sistema de campos nazis en toda Europa. Tome el tren desde nuestro punto de encuentro cerca de la S+U Friedrichstraße hasta Oranienburg. La ciudad de Oranienburg es donde se construyó el antiguo campo de concentración.

Emma was exceptional in sharing her vast knowledge. Truly appreciate all I learned and highly recommend. Seeing the camp and learning of what took place, of course, was disturbing, heartbreaking, gut wrenching. I like to say we have learned….but unfortunately atrocities in different forms continue. We all need to learn from such atrocities and truly work to ensure history stops repeating itself. My heart simply goes out.

I cannot imagine a better tour guide than Emma. She is so knowledgeable, so confident in her knowledge and so passionate about her subject matter. I knew I was in good hands right away. It was helpful to have a guide to get there and provide context beforehand. Our guide Xavier did great answering questions and helping us navigate the experience and space as well as the journey back. I would note that it is very important for the guides for there to be no note taking or recording of the tour in any way other than photos of the sites as is appropriate.

Great tour, but take plenty of water. No services other than WC at camp. Guides were very helpful purchasing train tickets.
