Bergamo's old hillside town, "La Citta' Alta" is wonderful, and we are so glad we went. Just a 45-minute train ride from Milano, and we were in a different world. The Tourist Office at the train station gave us a great tip - to use the old town Tourist Office's tour. It was an excellent 2 1/2 hour walking tour and quite inexpensive, only 12 euros. We took a taxi up, but leaving, we took the funicular and walked through the new part of the city.
Giorgio was a terrific guide. Very knowledgeable and funny. He gave us a good sense of Bergamo and it’s place in Italian history
Guide was very knowledgeable about Bergamo and it’s history. She allowed us to go at a pace comfortable to us.
Very pretty town with a soul that is its historic center, its winding alleys, sometimes steep, but very accessible despite the height thanks to the funicular, buses or taxis. Downstairs, the modern city also has a charm with several official buildings or banks with beautiful architecture.
amazing bergamo day tour with private driver, we explore most best attractions, very friendly guide, knowledge..
Giorgio Ghidotti was an unbelievable guide. He gave us details about what we were seeing that I doubt would be found in any guidebook. He seemed to sincerely care that we were having a good time and that we were enjoying ourselves. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to know the real Bergamo.
Our guide, Giorgio, accompanied us on a tour of the upper city of Bergamo showing the most important churches and monuments. Nice visit and friendly tour guide.
Natalia was an incredible guide! She is knowledgeable, entertaining and does a great job showing you the “secret spots” and special views. I would highly recommend this tour. A+
Bergamo is certainly worth a visit. We had a great time and the old town is beautiful. Giorgio is a very knowledgable guide. A very good day.
I can't say enough about Giorgio. He is a kind man blessed with a wealth of knowledge about Bergamo. This was listed as a three-hour tour with a meeting point in Bergamo. Instead he offered to pick us up in Milano and drive us back and we were with him for seven hours!! He even picked up lunch!! Giorgio has a true enthusiasm for his work and seems to just enjoy showing people around. Take any tour you can with him!
