Los Hoysalas mejoraron en los mega imperios anteriores de Calukyas que son conocidos por construir templos extremadamente ornamentados en muchas partes de Karnataka que destacan por las esculturas en las paredes, techos, pilares curvos y muchos más. Recojo temprano en la mañana de su hotel en Bangalore y traslado a Belur. El templo de Chennakeshava en Belur fue construido por orden de "Vishnuvadhana", el propio rey Hoysala, para celebrar una importante victoria militar en 1117 d. C. contra los Cholas en la batalla de Talakad. el rey quería un templo extraordinario y se ha construido con un estilo arquitectónico (estilo Hoysala) que era nuevo en la región. El monumento es excepcionalmente grande y su decoración es muy lujosa. Las decoraciones de este templo continuaron después del rey por sus varios sucesores durante un período de tiempo de casi 103 años.
La ciudad de Halebidu se conocía entonces como Dwarasamudra (puerta de entrada a los mares). La altura del arte y la arquitectura de Hoysalan se hereda en el templo de Hoysaleshvara en Halebidu. El templo está dedicado a Lord Shiva. También frente al templo hay una gran estatua de Nandi. Se tardó más de ochenta años en construir parcialmente y quedó incompleto. Fascinating Heritage which can be explored in a day from Bangalore!. Comfortable pickup on time and then you are taken to the breathtaking temples of "Hoysala" era. The finely crafted temple pillars make you certainly wonder whether the temples are machine lathe cut!

My wife and I had an excellent experience working with Mr. Jai Singh. We were staying at a hotel not mentioned in his list of pick up sites, but Mr. Singh promptly responded to our request and had his driver pick us up at our hotel for a nominal charge. It's a pure historical place and paradise for art and sculpture loving people. Its the temple made by Hoyasala dinesty way back of more than one thousand years! Once Belur was their capital also. It is 20 km from Hassan city and 175 km from Bangalore. KSRTC bus services to cover all these places(including Sravanbelagola as Jain temple) are there in a day trip.
