To start of the communication with the operator went smoothly. They answered quickly and we could book a tour in the same week at our preffered time. Mark picked us up at the agreed location in a black taxi. We did the political and mural tour. He was open and very knowledgeable. We got to ask questions along the way and he would take the time so we could take pictures. He even had a marker with him so we could write on the wall as well. I would recommend the tour to everyone. We learned about the past and present of Belfast/Northern Ireland.

I have taken groups of college students on this tour and have always appreciated the historical relay and non-partisan view on the presentation. We have been toured by Robert both times and he has done a phenomenal job. Highly recommend for a thought provoking experience in Belfast

We did a Black Taxi Murals tour with Robert and it was well worth the experience. He had extensive knowledge about the history, politics, context, and nuances of the Troubles and of the factors that led to the strife. The tour lasted about an hour and a half and he took us to see the most famous murals in the Republican Falls Road and Unionist Shankill Road neighbourhoods, separated by 45-foot-high metal gates known as "peace walls" to this day. Yes, you can easily visit those locations on your own, as both neighbourhoods are a short walking distance from the city centre of Belfast. But as I like to say, it's not about the "where" but about the "why". Visiting as part of a black taxi tour with such an experienced and knowledgeable guide provided us with tons of invaluable insight to better understand the context around the wall art, murals, slogans, posters, and memorial sites. I must also commend Robert for managing to do the near-impossible and provide a balanced narrative that left us mostly guessing on his own leanings and views. Given how fresh and raw the wounds still are in this area, and how divisive the politics are and how much everyone disagrees on the narrative, that is not easy to do.

The tour covered the Troubles while visiting the murals and the Peace Wall, giving us a much deeper understanding of what happened and how it affected people’s lives. A great value tour with flexible pick up and easy to arrange last minute. Big Mark's story telling was exceptionally engaging, informative, and hard hitting, can't recommend him and NI Black Taxi Tours highly enough. This has to be an essential experience for all tourists, as visiting Belfast today it so easy to overlook the very real tensions that still exist, and the pain and suffering this beautiful city continues to endure.
