This was a good lesson. Our teacher isn’t one of those set up as a stand in front of the hotels though, he’s a local guy who brings the boards with him for the lesson. It was a very personalized session for my 8 yr old and his mom. The board my son had was a bit small for him so let this guide know if you are above or below average size when you communicate so he can match the board to your size. It was fine though, he could not have known my son and I are the same size! The instructor taught us the basics on the beach then we spent a few hours getting pushed and coached into waves. My biggest worry with surfing is I’m going to get into other people’s way, so having a guide was such a relief. He took some cute pictures of us during and after the lesson.
I had an amazing experience with Sweet Costa Rica. Everything was very well organized, and the team was professional, responsible, and always attentive. I received great surf lessons and enjoyed a beautiful sunset surf session in Tamarindo — truly unforgettable. More than just a tour, it was an authentic experience. Highly recommended!
I booked this looking to catch a few waves and maybe make a local friend. What I got ~far~ surpassed my expectations. We went to this beautiful spot that’s very easy to learn at and stayed in the water during sunset - unreal. With his friendly feedback and guidance I stood up probably 25 times! He's such a great teacher, he really made it easy. I feel a confidence in surfing now that I had never gotten from other instructors. AND he was incredibly kind, friendly, funny and chill. One of my favorite new friends of my journey so far! Couldn’t recommend more!! 11/10!!!

The people who teach you are very friendly, personally it was my first time in a surf lesson and I enjoyed it very much, I would love to come back, my advice for the next travelers is to go with all the attitude and willing to enjoy and learn
