Descripción
Explora una Bari secreta con un arqueólogo experto entre tesoros escondidos de las épocas romana, paleocristiana y bizantina. El recorrido comienza en las excavaciones de la Via Traiana en la Piazza del Ferrarese, un corto tramo de la vía histórica construida por los romanos a principios del siglo II d.C., hasta llegar al Museo Arqueológico de Santa Escolástica. El recorrido continúa hacia la Catedral de San Sabino, precioso ejemplo del románico de Apulia, que esconde en sus ambientes subterráneos un itinerario arqueológico muy evocador conocido como Succorpo. El recorrido finaliza en la imponente y solemne Basílica de San Nicola, símbolo de la unión entre Oriente y Occidente, que alberga las reliquias del Santo. De acuerdo con los horarios de apertura de las áreas del museo y la disponibilidad, durante el recorrido se podrán visitar dos de los siguientes sitios arqueológicos: Palazzo Simi, Castello Svevo, Cripta Basílica, Catedral de Succorpo, Museo de Santa Escolástica.

Zona arqueológica que en 1960 sacó a la luz un suelo de mosaico con una interesante inscripción de época paleocristiana (siglos V-VI)
El monasterio medieval benedictino de Santa Escolástica, con el contiguo bastión del siglo XVI, hoy sede renovada del Museo Arqueológico de la ciudad metropolitana de Bari, recibe al visitante en el extremo norte de este museo muy extendido por su densidad y variedad. de arquitectura, arqueología, arte e historiadores que es la Ciudad Vieja.
Basílica Pontificia de estilo románico de Apulia.
Imponente fortaleza que data del siglo XII y que ahora se utiliza como museo. Situado en el borde del centro histórico, cerca de la zona del puerto y de la Catedral, por su tamaño representa uno de los monumentos más importantes y conocidos de la ciudad.

A fantastic glimpse into the history of the old town of Bari from a very knowledgeable guide. The museums were so interesting made better by the narrative of an archeological expert. Would be happy to recommend

The archaeological tour was unavailable for the date I booked and as I didn’t have other times available they swapped it for the city walking tour and food tour. Our guide Ana was super friendly and very knowledgeable and informative and the whole experience was great! I felt that I learned a lot about Bari and each of the sites and the food included was delicious, great quality and ample Would definitely recommend!

Viviana gave a wonderful personalized tour. Her personal experience of Bari and her deep connection with the sites we saw were superlative. During our visit to Bari we encountered quite a bit of rain but that didn’t deter our guide Viviana! We opted for the Underground tour of Bari which included the Roman ruins as well as the inside of the most important churches. It was informative and you can tell that Viviana is very passionate about her city and the art and culture within!
