I have been to Thailand's Chinatown once, and thanks to our guide, I was able to eat deep local food. Maybe I didn't usually hesitate to go in on my own and try it lol I even tasted good after a bite. I live in Thailand and I'm actually not good at Thai food, but they were all delicious 💖 I just didn't know a good restaurant lol I am not good at photography, so I couldn't take good pictures of the food, so I'll post a picture of Chinatown. See for yourself with your own eyes and tongue ✨ The guide was very kind and spoke well, explaining in English and Thai. Thank you for the fun tour, Mr. TON༾( ⑅ˊ ˅ ˋ )༿ ༾( ˊ ˅ ˋ⑅ )༿
Thank you for your review! We’re happy to know the experience felt welcoming and gave you something genuine to remember long after the day ended. We’d love to host you again with Secret Food Tours.
Thanks to ton for showing us many Chinatown landmarks which are very photogenic. Also many thanks to ton for showing us many restaurants and interesting foods. Very friendly and attentive guide who knows a lot.
Thank you for sharing this with us! It is rewarding to know the experience felt comfortable, enjoyable, and easy to be part of from start to finish. Secret Food Tours would be glad to host you again.
I had a very bad experience. I’ve worked with many tour companies before because I usually help book trips for people I know. This time, I admit that I made a mistake and booked the wrong tour. On the day of the incident, once we realized the booking error, the guide spoke with my friend and said that it would be possible to either change the date or switch to another program. They also sent me an email confirming this. Because of that, I told my friend to come back, and I planned to go in their place instead. However, later on, they informed me that it was no longer possible. By that time, everything had already been arranged, and I ended up losing more than 5,000 baht. I explained that we only changed our plans because they had already told us it was possible. If the guide had not given us that information in the first place, we would have found another solution and avoided losing money. It also took quite a long time for the company to respond, and in the end, they only offered me a discount code that must be used within seven days. Shouldn’t they have informed me clearly before making such a decision? If this had been communicated properly from the beginning, the situation would not have turned out like this. In most cases, even if it’s a no-show, there is usually at least a 50% refund or something better. I feel that this situation is partly due to incorrect information being given to the customer. As for the 7-day discount offer, my schedule is already full, so it’s impossible for me to use it in time. In conclusion, I lost money for nothing. I do not recommend this company.
Hello Suchawadee, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate you outlining your experience, as it helps us understand how situations like this are perceived from a guest’s point of view. Our tours are carefully arranged in advance, with preparations made ahead of each scheduled experience to ensure everything runs smoothly for our guests. Because of this, once a booking is confirmed and the tour date is set, it falls under our non-refundable policy, and we are unable to make exceptions in cases where plans change. While we understand that the situation was not ideal for you, many of our guests have shared how much they enjoy our Chinatown experience, particularly the variety of tastings and the insight provided by our local guides. It is something we are proud to offer and consistently receive positive feedback on. We do appreciate your understanding regarding the policy, and we hope there may be an opportunity to welcome you on one of our tours in the future when your schedule allows.
We had a wonderful evening in Chinatown with Jan (Chantana) leading our small group. She shared historical and cultural information as we walked, and was knowledgeable about the preparation of each dish, even helping prep food at times. She even arranged for a birthday celebration for me in the course of the evening. We could not have planned such an enjoyable experience on our own. Wow!!!
Thank you for posting your feedback here. We’re glad the selection of stops and the stories behind them added to your visit. You’re always welcome to join Secret Food Tours again during future travels!
Jan was an incredibly enthusiastic and multi skilled leader and guide. She quickly unified the group with her knowledge and made sure everyone could participate in the range if food on offer. She ensured the group was well looked after by varying soice levels and working around allergies. She also actively wirked with the cooks and restaurant owners, assisting with other customers while they looked after us. Regional soecialties and food histories were explained and demonstrated. The night ended with local beer and shots, sheltered from the rain with sime very tasty duck soup. Highly recommended!
We appreciate your review and your time with us. It’s wonderful to hear that the tastings and stories gave you a true taste of the city’s personality. We’d love to have you join us again for another culinary adventure!
Ton, our guide was lovely and very knowledgeable about Buddhism, we learned a lot from him about Thai spirituality! We very much let down about the fact that we had one group member with allergies, we had warned the company and guide beforehand, and were reassured everything would be adapted. In reality we had to remind the guide about the severe allergies at every single stop, and often no adaptions were made, once leading to our group member having to spit out a bite… Unfortunately in general we did not feel the price justified the experience. The food was alright but not amazing, nothing we hadn’t tasted before in Thailand. In addition, we did not learn anything about food or food culture in Thailand. All in all, if it’s your first time ever in Bangkok you’ll have a nice time, but if you have any experience with Thai and Chinese food, you’re better off going on your own for a fraction of the price.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, Shelly. While we do our best to ensure dietary restrictions are communicated in advance, it’s disappointing that you had to remind the guide at each stop and that suitable alternatives were not always available. This is certainly something we take seriously, and we will be reviewing this with our team to improve how we handle allergies on our tours. We also appreciate your thoughts on the food selection. Our tour is designed to showcase authentic local flavors, and we understand that for those already familiar with Thai cuisine, the experience may not feel as new or unique. That said, many of our guests love the curated stops and the cultural insights that come with them. We value your feedback, as it helps us refine our experiences. If you ever decide to join another Secret Food Tour in a different city, we’d love the opportunity to provide a more enjoyable experience for you.
We enjoyed our Secret Food Tour with our incredible guide, Ton. We wandered through the alleys of Chinatown trying one local dish after another. Please note to come super hungry because you will be extremely full after you try all the delicacies raging from Duck Noodles,Chinese dumplings, Chicken and Basil, Spicy Papaya Salad Chicken and Pork Satays and so much more. Ton, not only explained each dish but gave us a deeper understanding of the area, traditions , culture, and the principals of Buddhism. We appreciated receiving a copy of his book that he co-wrote with a famous teacher of philosophy and Buddahism. His in-depth knowledge, friendly and professional personality, and delicious food offerings made it for an unforgettable experience.
Hearing that you had such a fantastic time makes our day! Thank you for trusting us with your food experience, and we hope you’ll join us again for another delicious journey.
Jan was my guide and she was amazing. All the food stops were great and I felt like I got to try everything I wanted to without the nerves of picking the wrong place. I also enjoyed my time with Jan, learning about Bangkok life

Our group had a great time on our food tour. It was a great overview of Bangkok street cuisine. Highly recommend this tour because you get to taste things that are a bit more interesting. No pad Thai on this tour!
Thank you for such a fantastic review! It’s always a joy to share the best of the local food scene, and we’re thrilled that you had a great time. Hope to see you again.
So yummy and so much food! Everything we tried was amazing, Jan knew everyone in chinatown as well as where the locals ate. Lots of fun new foods, my favorite was the michellin donuts
