Itinerario

If you book this and are assigned a Mr. Surin, consider booking another temple tour. I was enticed by the all-inclusive nature of this one, but things were included that I didn't care for at all! First off, 6 of the 8 people in my tour were Chinese; Surin speaks both Chinese and English. The challenge with this, however, was that as he explained things to one part of the group, the other part just waited ... in broiling 107-/42-degree Thailand heat and humidity. When outdoors, that happened in the shade, however inside of temples, where it was hotter and absolutely NO AIR moved, it was unbearable. On top of that, Surin was quite long-winded and, in English anyway, repetitive. Had he read the situation better, Surin should've kept things short and even adjusted the tour to pass through or even bypass certain spaces quickly. Hard to enjoy an exhibit, for example, when you're nearly drowning in sweat. Another bothersome issue was that Surin often took off to the next location, never saying "Let's go," so that our group had to find him in the crowd and catch up. At one point, I asked my husband, "Does he think he's alone on this tour?" The tour van was a little tired and worn, too, and when the AC was on full blast, you couldn't hear Surin at all, and he didn't seem to try to project or raise his voice at all. Either speak louder or get a mic and speaker system ... One inclusion on the trip that wasn't at all what I expected was lunch. The activity listing made it sound like we'd be lunching on a boat, presumably sailing down the river. Nope, we were stationary and only moved once lunch was over. And the lunch itself? Absolutely foul -- the chafing dish entrees looked and tasted as if they were the picked-over remains of an earlier tour group, and the staff didn't care enough to reheat or replenish any of it Food quality was awful -- and Thai food, overall, is outstanding, so you REALLY have to put an effort in for it to suck. This tour lunch succeeded at that. The rotten cherry to this sour sundae of a day was mixed messaging about the dropoff. The Viator listing stated we'd be dropped off at the meeting point, which was perfect because my hubby and I wanted to go back and explore it. We were also eager to then take a taxi back to our hotel to rest before an evening appointment. First off, Surin was dropped off first at a train station. What responsible tour guide doesn't stay and ensure each guest leaves safely?! Then, imagine our bewilderment when a couple of the guests were dropped off at their hotels. At that point we wondered where we'd be dropped off, esp since our hotel was kind of far. So I texted Surin, who said the driver was now going to the meeting point. Why, then, did we have to lose 30 minutes dropping off two parties?! If they paid for curbside service, they should've had to wait for after the meeting point dropoff. At the very least, all of this should've been communicated to us all. I suspect the Chinese guests were informed, but we, as the only English speakers were overlooked. Who can know? Anyway, if you've made it this far, thanks, and I really hope it helps you make the best decision on a temples tour. Let me add that Mr. Surin wasn't a bad or purposefully mean person, not at all. His enthusiasm about temple and Thailand history was infectious, and I learned a lot. But I would advise him to be more aware of his guests' condition and whereabouts; be responsible and stay with the tour until the very last guest departs ... and separate the Chinese and English tours, for heaven's sake!! I should also say that the highlight of the tour, of course, were the gorgeous temples and witnessing Thailand's greatness.
Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the temples and Surin’s passion for Thai history. This tour is designed as a multilingual experience to accommodate different guests, though we understand that pacing and comfort can be impacted, especially in Bangkok’s heat. We are currently reviewing how to better structure the experience to ensure a smoother flow for everyone. We’ve also noted your comments regarding vehicle comfort, audio clarity, lunch expectations, and drop-off arrangements, and have shared them with our team for ongoing improvement. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

The tour was nice. The guide was informative and friendly. I didn’t care for the lunch however, but I’m still satisfied w the experience.
The tour guide , Alex could not have been better. The tour was informative and interesting. She assisted us greatly when my wife became unwell. Would recommend the team and tour.
Good timely tour. Felt bit rushed but had to to get to all the things we needed to see. Buffet was ok.
A great way to see classic Thai temples and The Grand Palace. But, maybe just a touch too long for us, especially as we are unaccustomed to the Bangkok heat! The itinerary was very well and seamlessly delivered by guide Vivienne and driver. We were treated to, essentially, a private tour when other guests had belatedly canceled. Vivienne was extraordinarily attentive, accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly. Great job that cannot be faulted. Overall very happy to recommend this 'classic', but caution regarding the heat!
We had the absolute pleasure of having Alec as our tour guide, and I truly cannot recommend her enough. She went far beyond what we expected. She didn’t just show us the temples, she brought them to life. Her storytelling made everything so much more interesting and memorable. On top of that, she gave us wonderful background on Thai culture, history, traditions, and even insights into the current economy and local beliefs. We were traveling with our toddler, and she was incredibly thoughtful and patient the entire time. She made sure we could keep up comfortably. That level of awareness and care meant so much to us. What impressed us most is that her care didn’t stop when the tour ended. She offered recommendations, helped us arrange a driver, and made sure we were completely taken care of. That level of dedication is rare. Honestly, no matter what tour we consider in the future, we would choose Alec again. She is incredible, professional, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about what she does. Thank you, Alec, for making our experience unforgettable.
Thank you so much for your amazing review! We’re delighted to hear that Alec made your experience so special and memorable. Your kind words about her knowledge, care, and dedication truly mean a lot to us. We will be sure to share your compliments with her. We hope to welcome you and your family again on your next visit!
Our guide was Mr Boy. While he tried hard to please, his English was poor, he repeated himself several times, and spoke about irrelevant topics.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the tour did not fully meet your expectations. We appreciate your comments about the guide’s communication, and we will share this feedback with our team to improve our service. Thank you for traveling with us.
