Experimente este increíble recorrido de 3.5 horas donde aprenderá el ciclo de vida de las tortugas marinas, las características de las diferentes tortugas que visitan esta parte de México, el tiempo de incubación, la tasa de supervivencia y todas las dificultades por las que tienen que pasar estas pequeñas criaturas. el momento en que nacen y corren hacia el océano y hasta el momento en que regresan a la playa muchos años después para poner huevos. Para que sea fácil de entender usaremos una tabla para explicar las diferencias de los 4 diferentes tipos de tortugas que visitan México. Este servicio incluye transporte de ida y vuelta desde el lobby de su hotel en Ixtapa o Zihuatanejo hasta la granja de tortugas, guía turístico informativo y la oportunidad de ver cómo las tortugas marinas bebés caminan hacia el océano y nadan sobre las grandes olas. Después de la granja de tortugas, tendrá la oportunidad de probar un macarrón de coco fresco hecho localmente.

Viajaremos por el pueblo para llegar a la comunidad rural de Juluchuca, famosa por la producción de macarons de coco y que tiene la playa más larga y apartada, lo que la convierte en el mejor lugar para que las tortugas mamá vengan a desovar lejos del ruido de los pueblos turísticos.
En playa Juluchuca te explicaremos el ciclo de vida de las tortugas marinas y te contaremos las características de los 3 tipos diferentes de tortugas marinas que vienen a poner huevos en esta parte de México, también te mencionaremos los diferentes depredadores que las matan antes. llegan al océano y también una vez que están en el océano. Después de una explicación de 20 minutos, seleccionaremos un nido que se encontró el día anterior, con cuidado quitaremos un poco de arena y le mostraremos uno de los huevos, luego taparemos el nido. Después seleccionaremos el nido que está eclosionando y serás testigo de cómo las tortugas salen a la superficie. Todas las tortugas se colocarán en un recipiente pequeño. Las tortugas permanecerán de 10 a 20 minutos en el contenedor, hasta que estén activas y listas para partir. Después los llevaremos a la arena mojada a unos 25 pies del océano y tan pronto como los pongamos en la arena mojada correrán hacia el océano. Esperaremos hasta que todos lleguen al océano.

We absolutely loved this turtle release tour. Luis taught us about the different kinds of turtles, then we each took five babies from the nest and got to interact with them until they were alert enough to be released into the ocean. One of my highlights from the week!
My husband and I and our 3 kids (13,11,8) did the sea turtle experience with Luis. He is so kind, knowledgeable, and fun! We all learned a lot, and getting to be hands-on with the baby turtles was really incredible. It was so great that we booked the snorkel tour with him for a few days later which was ALSO amazing! He drove us to the water taxi and we went across to Isla Ixtapa which was gorgeous, did some snorkeling and he showed us all kinds of beautiful fish, then we spent the day eating, drinking, and playing on the beach. Finally, he is giving us the best price for a van to the airport. We cannot recommend Luis enough!!
Our guide was phenomenal! Incredibly knowledgeable! Was fluent in English! Funny! Everything in a personality needed to have a good time! There was even surprise adventure. The men of the baby turtle sanctuary were so sweet and caring. And the absolute best were the baby sea turtles and the experience of getting to watch them start their sea lives! 10/10 recommend for those looking for ADVENTURE!
Very informative. They take pride in helping the turtles. Being able to release the turtles was amazing. I would suggest July through August as it is in the middle to the end of hatching season.

Really great experience, the beach was beautiful. These guys are doing such important work. The bonus was the ATV ride and coconut treats.
An absolutely life long memorable event. The drive to the sanctuary was educational, thanks to Pablo's knowledge of the area. The excursion to the ocean site where the baby sea turtle sanctuary is located was a lot fun riding on the ATV's thru coconut groves. The short class on the different sea turtle that lay their eggs on this 14 km strip of beach was very informative. We can not say enough positive things about the entire experience. Will definitely be returning with friends and family to share the truly moving experience of nature.
We booked and paid for three adults to go on a tour on February 23. My husband became ill and I advised the tour operator, more than 24 hours in advance and in accordance with its cancellation policy. February 22 was the same day the madness in P.V. occurred and the remaining two in our party were uncomfortable travelling outside the city. The operator has refused to refund any of the fees, including the one that was cancelled more than 24 hours in advance of the tour. My advice: DO NOT pay in advance. It has been a miserable experience.
Luis took our family on an amazing trip to learn about several species of sea turtles, their life cycles, and their what is being done to help save/protect them. The two men that run the rescue were so kind and you could tell they loved being a part of saving the turtles. They truly care. Luis was an excellent guide and translated everything so we understood the whole process. He is kind and very informative from the moment he picked us up at our hotel to the moment he dropped us off at the end of the tour. He was so helpful. We definitely recommend this tour with Luis!
The baby sea turtle release was amazing! We learned a lot about the turtles from the two gentlemen who run the turtle rescue, then were so amazed with the hands on experience getting to hold and release the baby turtles into the ocean. These men do so much to help improve the turtle population. They are so dedicated to the cause and do it for the love of the turtles. Luis was a great tour guide! He was so friendly, translated the entire turtle presentation, and gave us so much information on the drive to and from the turtle rescue area. His English is excellent which made the experience better as we fully understood everything. I would definitely recommend this activity. My family really enjoyed it and it was even better with Luis!
