Solo ocho lugares en el mundo producen vinos volcánicos. Basta pensar en el romanticismo que envuelve a los vinos cultivados en suelos nacidos de tierra fundida y ceniza. Los suelos volcánicos representan solo el 1 por ciento de la superficie del mundo, pero contribuyen con un porcentaje mucho mayor de los grandes viñedos del mundo. Los vinos volcánicos han cautivado a los amantes del vino aventureros que buscan impactar sus paladares con algo diferente. Este es un vino de microproducción de las islas volcánicas de Azores en el Océano Atlántico Norte. Se cultiva en basalto volcánico al nivel del mar, a menos de 50m del Atlántico. Este terruño y la mezcla de variedades le otorgan a este vino una mineralidad y pureza increíbles, así como inconfundibles sabores de piedra, salinidad y carácter sabroso, la mineralidad y los vinos volcánicos van de la mano. Visita el museo del vino y la bodega con un guía. Degustar el vino de este productor y visitar la bodega. (Domingos y lunes el museo está cerrado, visitaremos otra bodega o brindaremos una degustación de vino en el área de picnic)
Terruño volcánico: camine por la tierra donde se producen las uvas y comprenda sus características únicas. Disfrute del magnífico paisaje de este pueblo en el norte de la isla y visite las famosas piscinas naturales del océano.
En un ambiente relajado en el jardín de una familia azoriana, pruebe varios vinos volcánicos azorianos diferentes (al menos 3 vinos/botella llena en la mesa) acompañados de apetitosas degustaciones de los sabores de la isla.

Great wine tasting featuring Azorean wines and local specialties (sausages, cheese, bread, olives, and cake). A very exclusive experience, as the tasting was held just for the two of us. For a very reasonable €25, we were picked up from our accommodation and driven back afterwards. The drive itself turned into a small island tour with stunning viewpoints and plenty of great recommendations. Warm, welcoming, humorous, and delicious throughout. Absolutely recommended!
We really enjoyed the scenic wine tour, with the last stop at Victor and Helia's home base, which is set up perfectly to host outdoor parties. We learned a lot about the island, wine & food culture, and especially Terceira's tradition of Tourada à corda. Victor provided invaluable information for recommendations around the entire island for sites and restaurants. Thank you again for your hospitality!

If I could give this tour 10 stars I would.. Vítor, our tour guide was so friendly, funny and informative. We ended the tour with a delicious Portuguese feast all prepared by his lovely wife. This is an amazing couple, do not hesitate to book this tour and we can’t wait to come back!

This was a fantastic tour. Victor is a wonderful tour guide. His years of experience is evident with the level of customer service provided. After the driving tour and stops at several locations, he and Hélia took us into their home for a feast meats, cheeses, homemade jams, and dessert with a wonderful discussion of the country and its traditions. Victor has a couple different tours including a military history tour that we were able to get a little of just because of the questions we were asking. We absolutely recommend this experience.

Excellent tour with Vitor, personable and knowledgeable guide. We visited the wine museum, tasted some fortified wine, viewed the vines, stopped by the natural pool and had a tasting of three wines hosted by Vitor and his wife and accompanied by cod fish cakes, cheese plate, freshly grilled sausage, and Dona ameilda cake.

The tour was fantastic. It wasn't just about the wine, we learned so many things about the island, land, culture and food. Our guide answered so many questions we had. The highlight was the meal at the end of the tour. Very casual, warm and the food was fantastic. I can't recommend the tour enough.
