Esto es más que un tour de observación de ballenas, es una experiencia personal construida sobre la pasión, la familia y una conexión profunda con el océano. Su empresa es de propiedad y gestión familiar, creada a partir de un sueño de toda la vida de compartir la belleza de Eyjafjörður con otros. Con más de 15 años de experiencia en el mar, su capitán conoce estas aguas del revés y se dedica a brindarle la mejor experiencia posible. Nos centramos en grupos pequeños, creando un ambiente relajado y personal donde cada huésped se sienta bienvenido. Este no es un tour lleno de gente, sino una oportunidad para conectarse verdaderamente con la naturaleza y experimentar las ballenas en su entorno natural. Cada viaje que hacemos es personal para nosotros. El barco lleva incluso el nombre del hijo, haciendo de cada recorrido un reflejo de la familia, la historia y el amor por el océano. Itinerario
Te recogeremos en el puerto de cruceros de Akureyri en un autobús, desde allí nos dirigiremos a Hjalteyri, un pequeño pueblo a 20 minutos de Akureyri. En Hjalteyri subiremos a bordo del barco de observación de ballenas BRIMIR. Navegaremos para encontrar ballenas que se ven muy comúnmente, luego regresaremos al muelle y tomaremos un autobús de regreso al puerto de cruceros de Akureyri.

Had a wonderful time on 10th July 2026 with my family spotting not only a humpback whale, but some white beaked dolphins, puffins, and jellyfish! The dolphins at one time swam along with the boat jumping in and out of the water.Jitka our guide and the crew of Brimir were not only incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, but all too happy to chat. Jitka especially was an enthusiastic guide, her running commentary on the different species we were seeing was passionate and so well-informed. The Brimir itself is a converted fishing boat ,with a warm inside cabin and a brilliantupper deck , with coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks provided. Highly recomend this trip.
Great trip out on a smallish old fishing boat, beautifully refurbished. We spent more time on the water than some of the other boats out there in the fjord and had great views of one particular humpback. Crew were lovely people who are obviously,and rightly, proud of this new family venture. Highly recommend.

The Brimir itself was a comfortable little boat, with coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks provided. Most of our time was spent up on deck, peering at the breathtaking views. Well worth the money, and a big recommend!
Cancelled on the morning of our trip. Said it shouldn't have been bookable but l booked weeks ago. Didn't offer us the alternative time he was doing the trip nor organise an alternative. And was still advertising the same trip on other sites. Not trustworthy. Poor start to a new business
Easy pick up on shuttle bus at the cruise port to the boat location. Had plenty of whale sightings as well as puffins and porpoises. I noticed other whale tour boats that were packed with people. Our trip was roomier with space to move around.

Small group (around 10 people on my day), easy pick up in front of where the cruise ship was docked. Requires a short road journey (provided by the tour) from Akureyri to Hjalteyri before getting on a boat. This was actually in our favour on our day, the whales were right out of Hjalteyri. The boat (called Brimir) is of a good size, has a clean WC and a coffee machine. Knowledgeable and informative guide Jitka, who speaks good English and happy to answer any questions. After the tour Jitka will also upload the pictures she took of the whale(s), and upload it onto a Google drive for free access.
