It is false advertising based your picture since it is not sit down traditional tea it is very boring not worth of 35$ per person
Dear Saied, First of all thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback. While it is always disheartening to receive negative reviews, it is important for us to hear personal opinions, and it also gives us a chance to respond. Traditional tea ceremonies take many different forms, and we pride ourselves on our friendly, accessible and authentic experiences. All our tea rooms have traditional decorations, furnishings, and tatami mats. The addition of tables and chairs in some of our tea rooms is in part to make tea ceremony more manageable for those who find it difficult to sit on the floor, but is no less authentic. Table and chair style tea ceremonies started over 100 years ago, and one of the wonderful things about tea ceremonies (and an important part of the lessons behind practicing tea ceremony) is that they can be performed almost anywhere to anyone. I am very sorry that the tea ceremony you experienced did not meet your expectations. I am also very sorry that you felt the experience was boring. Although the tea rooms at our locations differ somewhat, the experience itself remains the same. Again, we are very disappointed that you left feeling underwhelmed. Please feel free to reach out again if you would like to discuss anything in more detail, and please enjoy the rest of your time in Japan.
Very informative about the social importance of matcha tea! :)
We had such a wonderful experience! Our hosts were so lovely and treated us to an authentic tea ceremony. The highlight for us was making our own matcha and learning all about the beauty and depth of the tea ceremony. I would highly recommend this to all who travel to Kyoto!
Authentic setting to experience a traditional tea ceremony. Took about 45 minutes total, and the actual ceremony took about 10 minutes. Some history of tea and the ceremony, then watch the instructor perform the ceremony, and then you get to make tea (not doing all of the aspects of the ceremony, just whisking the matcha), then time for questions. Interesting and fun.
My mom & I had a wonderful tea experience! We learned how to prepare tea & tea etiquette. The aroma & flavor were both amazing. I truly enjoyed every moment. Everyone who worked there was incredibly kind and welcoming. they were so friendly & nice. They made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Beautiful ceremonial matcha tea learning experience! Our guide was informative and kind in showing us the traditional ceremony and teaching us to make our own matcha tea.
It was such a nice experience! My family and I loved the demonstration of a tea ceremony, it was very informative. It was also really cool to have a go at making matcha how it is made at ceremonies! Definitely recommending this experience to anyone.
Really enjoyed learning about traditional tea ceremony. Also got to make our own Matcha. Would definitely recommend.
This was an amazing experience! Everyone was so kind and explained all the steps and procedures of kintsugi in a beautiful way. Getting to take home our very own gold leaf bowl was the cherry on top of the already fun experience. Thanks Momoson!
Choice of tea ceremony for 45 minutes. It was perfect, clear explanations and a friendly setting. We had chosen the option of Kimono rental in order to be immersed. A more ceremonial option for two at around €125 for both.
