Orheiul Vechi ("Old Orhei") es un espectacular complejo arqueológico ubicado a unos 60 km al noreste de Chişinău, entre los pueblos de Trebujeni y Butuceni. Este hermoso valle bordeado por el río Răut, es uno de los sitios turísticos más famosos del país. El panorama es impresionantemente hermoso. Hay varios edificios antiguos que datan de diferentes períodos. Antiguas fortalezas excavadas en la roca, los restos de una mezquita y monasterios cristianos hacen del sitio un representante excepcional de la rica y agitada historia de la región. Un pequeño museo local proporciona toda la información necesaria a los visitantes.
El monasterio de Curchi, es uno de los monumentos más significativos de la arquitectura moldava. Se encuentra en la región de Orhei, a 55 km de Chisinau, la capital; en el lado derecho del valle de Vatici, al pie del bosque llamado "Codru". Este complejo monástico tiene una historia cultural y religiosa de dos siglos y medio y es considerado el lugar de culto más bello y famoso de Besarabia. La ubicación del monasterio de Curchi es de esplendor excepcional gracias a la naturaleza que lo rodea. Se baña en un mar verde y se sumerge en un fabuloso contraste con sus paredes blancas y rojas.

A really good tour to beautiful and peaceful locations. Our guide was excellent and knowledgeable. The monastery was highlight. Such stunning surroundings. This is a wonderful way to explore Moldova outside of the capital. A really real ‘must’ for including, in any visit to Chisinau.
Very pleasant visit with my family, our very professional and patient guide. Made us a very complete story about Moldovan history, and showed us well around the village ... The restaurant where have it stopped for lunch was excellent, typical cuisine as well as the very warm setting.

Very nice drive to make 2 stops to see monasteries. Tour guide went out of his way so I could take a picture of Stephen the Great statue.
My tour guide Tim was excellent! Fluent in English. He is very good at telling traditions and reporting on the country and people. He has a very broad knowledge of the country, culture, economy and much more. The tour was exclusively focused on cultural sites, of which there would be more. No photograph can reflect what you see and experience in person. Monasteries are very well preserved. Hiking trails are well signposted. Pure nature!

Great experience, perfectly designed to see most of what’s to be seen in the area in a condensed timeframe & with comfort. Andrian is very nice, provider a wealth of information of Moldova past & contemporary, and gives plenty of flexibility to enjoy things at your own rhythm. The lunch he recommended was super good and incredible value for money. I’m female, was travelling solo and felt super safe all the time :)
