We were visiting the city and wanted to taste some of what Atlanta had to offer. We have done many food tours and this was not what we expected. We expected to be guided; however, this was ala carte and we were expected to choose food in an area where we’ve never visited. We could have just asked Google for places to eat instead of doing the tour, as we were given a budget per person. On a positive note, the food that we tried was actually great and our guide was nice/ personable, which salvaged the day for us. If you book this tour, please pay attention to the portion where it says customizable, as you will be expected to choose where you want to eat in a new city you may not be familiar with.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Guide had no idea what was going on. She relied on GPS the entire trip, but because she was unfamiliar with the area, she did not share any tidbits of information, lore or trivia. She kept apologizing because we were walking in circles, or she couldn't find the destination. It was like a forced death march. After an hour, my friend finally suggested stopping SOMEWHERE for a bite to eat or at least a beverage. When signing up for a tour, you expect the guide to be the most knowledgeable individual. That was not the case. She kept saying we could do whatever we wanted. Since we can't get the three hours of our time back, what we want is the tour we signed up for, or, at the very least, our money back!
