Great tour! We booked the 5:30 pm tour. The meeting point was easy to find and not far from the entry point. It was very hot (Make sure to bring water with you since the water available is very hot and not drinkable). Our tour guide, Dionysus, knew exactly where to stop so we were in shaded areas where he shared his knowledge. Dionysus was pleasant, prompt, and knowledgeable! At the end of the tour we were left to navigate our way down ourselves which allowed for us to watch the sun go down, the flag being taken down, and take many pictures! Ask for Dionysus. You won’t be disappointed! Highly recommend!
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Phillippia! She was very knowledgable about Greek history without it being too overwhelming. She was also very good about leading us into the shade since it was pretty hot out. We felt that having a guide for our time in the Acropolis was very worthwhile, otherwise it's hard to know what you're looking at.
Dear Rachel, Finding that balance between rich history and an easygoing pace is an art, and Phillippia is a master at it—shade hunting included! Having a guide to bring ancient sites to life really makes all the difference on the Acropolis. Thank you for your lovely review, and we hope you carry wonderful memories of your time in Athens! Warmly, Athens Walking Tours Team
Our guide was knowledgeable, and we learned so much about the history and current renovations of the Acropolis. Easy to book, meet up, and navigate.
Hey Dan, Thank you so much for the fantastic review! What a pleasure to hear you learned so much about both the ancient history and the ongoing restoration work at the Acropolis—and that the entire process from booking to meeting up was smooth sailing. Thank you for exploring with us, and safe travels on all your future adventures! Warmly, Athens Walking Tours Team
Very experienced guide. Kiki was wonderful. We bought our entry tickets with the tour - would highly recommend.
Hey Cindy, Thank you so much for the glowing review! Vasiliki (Kiki) is an absolute treasure, and we're so glad her experience and passion made your Acropolis visit so seamless and special. Skipping the ticketing hassle is definitely the way to go! We really appreciate the high recommendation, and we wish you safe and happy travels ahead! Warmly, Athens Walking Tours Team
All of our tours were on time, very good English. They were all very patient with questions and slower people. My recommendation on very hot days is that you continue to move rather than standing a talking.
Hi Marie, Thank you so much for the review! We're glad to hear all your tours were on time and that you found our guides patient, helpful, and easy to understand. We really appreciate your practical tip about keeping on the move on those scorching days—it’s great advice for beating the heat while taking some rest when needed. Have a nice day! Guide excellent, very informative. Great they had headphones. Very hot but overall a great experience. Can recommend.
Hey Linda, Those audio headsets really are a total game-changer for hearing every cool detail, especially on a bustling, hot morning at the Acropolis! It makes us smile to hear our guide made the experience so great despite the summer heat. Thank you so much for leaving us a review and for recommending us to fellow travelers! Warmly, Athens Walking Tours Team
From start to finish, the Acropolis tour was handled in a very professional manner. Thoroughly recommended.
Hey Andy, Short, sweet, and straight to the point—we love it! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We are happy to hear everything went smoothly and professionally from start to finish. We truly appreciate the recommendation! Warmly, Athens Walking Tours Team
The acropolis and Parthenon are amazing. However, it was about 95 degrees in Athens and the walk was incredibly strenuous—not moderate as stated. Also, while we enjoyed all the info shared by our guide, given the incredible heat I think most in the group would have preferred cutting down the talk and getting to the top more quickly. Also, while shade wasn’t abundant it would have been wonderful to find more shady spots.
Hey Anita, We’re so glad you enjoyed seeing the incredible Acropolis and Parthenon, but we regret to hear the heat and incline made the walk so grueling. Athens summers are definitely no joke! You make a great point—when the temperature hits 95°, even a standard walk can quickly feel strenuous, and keeping talks brief in favor of finding shade and moving at a comfortable pace is key. We appreciate your feedback and will share it with our team so our guides can better adapt their pacing and stop selection on extremely hot days. Thank you for taking the time to share your honest thoughts with us. Warmly, Athens Walking Tours Team
Pick up / meeting location was very confusing , not convenient at all !! But our guide , Philipa was amazing …. Very knowledgeable , kind !
Hey there, We are so glad to hear that Philipa made such a great impression on you! She really is amazing, and her knowledge and kindness make every step up the hill worth it. At the same time, we regret to hear that finding the meeting point was frustrating and inconvenient for you. We aim for smooth start-to-finish experiences, so we will review our meeting point instructions to make sure they are clearer and easier to navigate for future guests. Thank you for your feedback!
