Iris our tour guide was fantastic. Very knowledgeable , a great sense of humour and friendly. It was wonderful being in a small group.
Definitely recommend this tour and our guide Vaggelis! He is an historian with tremendous knowledge of the Acropolis and Parthenon. We learned great deal that we would not have come to know on our own.
Michael was amazing. I have walking difficulties and asked him to arrange for me to use the elevator so I could join the group at the summit. Unfortunately the elevator was out of service due to high winds. So Michael personally escorted me up the ramps and stairs, stayed with me through the tour and accompanied me back down. It was difficult for me but I can’t imagine visiting Athens and not seeing the acropolis. I am very grateful for his personal attention
We recently enjoyed a 6-hour private tour of the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum and Ancient Agora with Athens Blue, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From the moment we booked, everything was easy, efficient and well organised. The WhatsApp communication was excellent – quick responses, clear information, and a genuine feeling that we were being looked after from start to finish. Our guide, Giannis, was fantastic. Relaxed, friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely great company. We’ve been on tours in other countries where the day has started to feel long or tiring, but this was quite the opposite. Giannis made the experience engaging, uplifting and enjoyable throughout. His knowledge brought the history of Athens to life, while the pace of the tour felt comfortable and unhurried. We especially appreciated the coffee break at one of his favourite local cafés, which was a lovely opportunity to rest and soak up the atmosphere. The local restaurant he chose for lunch was another highlight. It’s probably somewhere we wouldn’t have discovered ourselves, but it gave us a genuine Greek experience and the food was exceptional. Big compliments to Giannis and the whole Athens Blue team. The combination of excellent organisation, personal service and expert guiding made this one of the best private tours we’ve ever taken. If you’re visiting Athens and want an enjoyable, authentic and stress-free way to explore the city’s incredible history, I would highly recommend Athens Blue.
The tour was amazing. Janus was a very knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed the experience although we almost didn’t get to go. Our tour was on Sunday at 9am. We left our hotel at 8:35 to what should have been. 10 minute walk. Our directions were not good and we spent 45 minutes trying to locate the meeting point walking 2.5 miles. We contacted Viator and the tour operator and we were allowed to go on the tour at 8am on Monday. We did have to repurchase the tickets(€30 per person) which was in top of what we had already paid (€104) BUT we didn’t lose this opportunity! We greatly appreciate the tour operator making a ONE time exception to accommodate us.
We had an AMAZING time on this tour! Elizabeth was our guide— she’s phenomenal. She’s an archeologist by trade so she was able to offer a unique perspective. The best part is she was really funny and was able to share really interesting stories along the way. We learned so much about Greek history. We enjoyed every minute of this tour! Highly recommend!
We booked a premium Acropolis tour in Athens, expecting a serious, well-organised and informative experience at one of the most important historical sites in the world. Instead, it was a complete disaster. The day before, we tried several times to call the agency to confirm the meeting point. Nobody answered. On the day of the tour, we arrived at the Acropolis and there was nobody there for us. We called and called until someone finally answered and admitted they had forgotten about our tour. Instead of organising the premium tour we had booked, they simply added us onto another tour that had already started 20 minutes earlier. We missed the beginning completely and were just thrown into an existing group as if our booking did not matter. The guide was extremely disappointing. On top of this, he was the only guide without earplugs/microphone! What a con! For a site as important as the Acropolis, there was almost no real explanation of Greek history, mythology, the gods, the origins of the monument, or its cultural significance. The information was poor, shallow, and mostly irrelevant. It honestly felt like a waste of time. The group was also chaotic, with children constantly interrupting and talking nonsense with the guide, making it impossible to enjoy or learn anything. After around 45 minutes of this terrible experience, we gave up and left to visit the Acropolis by ourselves. This was our first time in Athens and possibly our only chance to visit the Acropolis. What should have been a once-in-a-lifetime experience was completely ruined by this company’s lack of professionalism, organisation, and basic customer care. Afterwards, I contacted the agency and requested a 50% refund, which was more than reasonable considering what happened. They did not even respond. Horrible experience. Disorganised, disrespectful, and a complete waste of money. I would strongly advise people to avoid this company.
This small tour was absolutely amazing tour. Dimitris was a wonderful guide - friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate. Would highly recommend the tour.
Fantastic opportunity to see the Acropolis area and hear about its history directly from an expert guide and one who is deeply invested in the importance of this as the cradle of democracy.
Good service with professional tour guide, one of the best traveling experiences in Greece, highly recommended!
