El tour comienza desde su hotel, una oportunidad para pasar un día encantador fuera de Roma para visitar Umbría, una de las regiones más pintorescas de Italia rica en viñedos, olivos y los famosos pueblos de la cima de la colina. Una de las más famosas es Asís, Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. La mística ciudad de San Francisco, rodeada por sus antiguas murallas, fue construida en las verdes laderas del Monte Subasio y con sus coloridas casas de piedra, calles estrechas, balcones en flor y palacios nobles proporcionan hermosas vistas para imágenes memorables (no olvide su cámara). Una interesante visita a la Basílica de San Francisco, con sus primeras obras maestras del Renacimiento de Giotto y Cimabue, y la Basílica de Santa Maria degli Angeli. Tiempo para almorzar en un restaurante típico (opcional) y luego el tour continúa hacia Orvieto, donde se puede admirar una obra maestra de la arquitectura gótica con una fachada brillante de vidrieras, mosaicos y esculturas. Empápate del encanto de Orvieto y explora el centro de la ciudad y luego regresa a Roma.

Realizará una interesante visita a la Basílica de San Francisco con sus obras maestras de la primera etapa del renacimiento de los artistas Giotto y Cimabue, y también visitará la Basílica de Santa Maria degli Angeli. Basílica de Santa María de los Ángeles Tras la muerte de San Francisco en 1226, los frailes construyeron varios cobertizos pequeños alrededor de la porciúncula. En 1230, se añadieron un refectorio y algunos edificios adyacentes. En el transcurso del tiempo, se añadieron a la porciúncula pequeños pórticos y estancias para los frailes. Algunos de los cimientos de esta época fueron descubiertos durante las excavaciones bajo el suelo de la actual basílica entre 1967 y 1969. La Cúpula de Orvieto es una de las catedrales italianas más bellas, una obra maestra de la arquitectura gótica del centro de Italia. El magnífico edificio domina el acantilado en el que se encuentra Orvieto gracias a su tamaño. Explora Orvieto, una de las ciudades más antiguas de Italia, debe sus orígenes a la civilización etrusca: los primeros asentamientos se remontan al siglo IX a.C. y se ubicaron en el interior de las cuevas de toba creadas en el macizo sobre el que actualmente se encuentra la ciudad de Umbría. Aunque la fama de Orvieto está profundamente entrelazada con la de su magnífica catedral, la ciudad ofrece numerosas ideas e itinerarios histórico-artísticos, precisamente en virtud de sus antiguos orígenes. Además, situada sobre un acantilado, Orvieto ofrece unas vistas panorámicas realmente espléndidas.

Elisabetta was a wonderful guide and when she handed us off to Victoria at the entrance to Assisi, the trip went up a notch. I have personally been there two times before and did not have as thorough an explanation for all of the artistry as I did this time. We were comfortable in the car ride and there was only four of us for the day trip so it was very personalized. I would not hesitate to recommend it 100%.

Fantastic Day in Assisi! Juliana and her driver were the best! Picked up my wife and me at 7 a.m. at our hotel and headed out for a great day in Assisi. Juliana was a wonderful guide - very thoughtful and allowed us to move at our own pace. In Assisi, we had a guide who walked us through the town and churches - explaining everything in detail. After a nice lunch, we stopped by Orvieto for a brief tour. Beautiful church. Highly recommend this tour and Juliana!
