CONOCIENDO A NUESTRO GUÍA. Su guía estará esperando en 7 Makrygianni Street en la parada de metro de la Acrópolis que está a la vuelta de la esquina de la entrada principal de la Acrópolis. Nuestro lugar de encuentro ofrece una perspectiva ideal desde la que ver la muralla circundante de la Acrópolis construida por la civilización micénica anterior y le proporcionará una introducción a la Historia de la Acrópolis, su importancia y papel en la vida de la antigua Grecia, y una visión general de los templos y monumentos increíbles que está a punto de ver. OPCIÓN VEHICULAR : Si elige esta opción su conductor estará en su punto de desembarque del Crucero, Recepción del Hotel u otra Dirección Atenas (por favor proporcione esto después de la reserva)
LA ACRÓPOLIS Y TODOS SUS TEMPLOS Y MONUMENTOS. Nuestro día comienza con la Acrópolis, foco de la vida en la Antigua Atenas y rodeado por su increíble muralla ciclópea, construida por los micénicos hace miles de años. La Acrópolis alberga el Partenón, pero también muchos otros monumentos increíbles. Primero entrarás a través de la gigantesca ‘Propylaia’ detrás de la cual una vez se encontraba una estatua incrustada de oro de la diosa Atenea. También podrás ver el Templo de Atenea Nike (o ‘Viktoria’) del 420 a. C. antes de otros sitios importantes como el mítico Erechtheion, único en su construcción con sus estatuas icónicas de las Cariátides, y el Teatro de Dionisio más antiguo del Mundo del siglo VI a. C., que habría visto las primeras representaciones de obras antiguas de Sófocles y Eurípides entre otros. El impresionante y totalmente renovado teatro romano, Herodius Atticus, completado en el año 161 d.C., también en el sitio, fue dedicado a la esposa de un rico benefactor y todavía alberga un vibrante programa público de verano.
EL PARTENÓN. Considerado ampliamente como una obra maestra de la ciencia, la ingeniería y la cultura, el Partenón fue dedicado a la diosa Atenea y habría albergado originalmente su impresionante estatua. Sus esculturas decorativas se consideran algunos de los puntos culminantes del arte griego clásico, algunos de los cuales se pueden ver en el cercano Museo.
MUSEO DE LA ACRÓPOLIS. Un Museo de Arte de vanguardia construido carismáticamente sobre excavaciones que revelaron capas históricas desde casas romanas hasta iglesias bizantinas. Pasando por el Museo, su guía pasará junto a estos restos que da vida a la historia literalmente bajo sus pies durante el recorrido
TEMPLO DE ZEUS OLÍMPICO. Este templo colosal en el centro de Atenas estaba dedicado al Dios Zeus, cabeza de los dioses olímpicos. La construcción comenzó en el siglo VI a. C. y el templo albergaba una estatua ricamente adornada, una de las siete maravillas del Mundo Antiguo.
ARCO DE ADRIANO. Arco Triunfal Clásico construido por los antiguos atenienses para el emperador romano Adriano y visto junto con el Templo de Zeus en la misma ubicación
EL ESTADIO PANATENEO. También llamado estadio 'Kallimarmaro' es uno de los lugares más destacados de Atenas, donde termina el Maratón clásico y el único estadio en el mundo construido completamente de mármol
ZAPPION HALL. Este lugar emblemático en los Jardines Nacionales fue construido originalmente como la primera Villa Olímpica al comienzo de los Juegos Olímpicos Modernos. Tiene una historia fascinante a través del desarrollo de la Atenas moderna y también sirvió una vez como un centro de tranvía en el siglo XIX.
JARDINES NACIONALES DE ATENAS. Originalmente diseñado como un jardín real en el siglo XIX, este oasis verde y sombreado conecta muchos de los puntos destacados de las ciudades y dentro de sus serpenteantes caminos hay muchas pequeñas delicias de fuentes, bibliotecas, ruinas antiguas e incluso un zoológico.
CAMBIO DE LOS GUARDIAS Y TUMBA DEL SOLDADO DESCONOCIDO. Custodiado por los impresionantes evzones, puede tomarse fotos con ellos (uno a la vez) y si el recorrido llega a este lugar en la hora, también verá la impresionante ceremonia de cambio.
PARLAMENTO GRIEGO. Centro de Gobierno y otrora Palacio Real con importancia en la historia reciente de la Grecia moderna y dominando el lugar sobre la plaza principal de Atenas.
CUADRADO SINTAGMA. Plaza principal de Atenas que alberga el edificio del Parlamento Helénico y el foco de gran parte de la vida y la política ateniense. Al comienzo de la vía comercial peatonal y con muchos otros mercados y atracciones a pie, este es el lugar ideal para terminar su recorrido para un descanso antes de continuar su día.

This was the most amazing tour of Athens!! Vicky was such a sweet and knowledgeable guide at the Acropolis/Parthenon. She showed and told us things you could never know without her expertise. We had an amazing all day tour to the Acropolis and Temple of Posideon with private tour guides and lunch. It was an amazing day! Our driver Petros took us to a couple other areas and even had us stop to grab a coffee before our long drive out to the Temple. Great information, easy to work with, lunch was so good and fresh. 10/10 recommend!! Hot tip : have them pre purchase your tickets, it made the whole day flow much easier

It was an exceptional day. Andreas our driver was knowledgeable, accommodating, and made the trip extremely pleasant. The car was first class, and the trip itself was extremely informative. It was a great experience. We would certainly recommend it if you r=are traveling to Greece.

Alex our driver and guide was fantastic, super helpful and very attentive. He met us at the cruise port right on time, answered all questions, even the silly ones and was so eager to share his knowledge of Athens, the sights and history. We saw so many sights, beat the bulk of the lines at the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum and then had a lovely and super tasty lunch at a little coastal restaurant near Poseidon's Temple. If you want to make the most of a day in Athens, this tour will make that happen.

We had one full day to see all the important sites in Athens and this was the way to go! Andreas was professional, interesting, educated, and we got a real sense of day to day life in Athens, not to mention a good historical perspective. He drove safely in a beautiful comfortable car, stopped for lunch at a place he spent his youth near, and was prompt and responsive to any other questions or times we wanted to stop for a viewpoint. I misunderstood the quality and dollar amount "stipend" that lunch included, I would have tried more things on the menu. Also it appeared that this was a place that a bus tour could and did stop, and we would have appreciated and paid for something more private and upscale. Nevertheless, it was a great sunny day and wonderful way to see Athens. Good communication before the excursion also, which always helps. Would recommend!

This was a great way to see Athens, and our driver, Alex was very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us great history before each stop. Betty was the private guide at the Acropolis and she was fantastic!! But the drive to Sounion was too much. 4.5 hours extra in the car just to see Poseidon didn’t seem necessary, after doing it. That’s no one’s fault. , but it was a lot of boring time driving home with nothing to see.

Regards the trip to the Temple of Poseidon, the drive there of around an hour is usually seen as a nice balance after all of the Athens sites and can easily be described as one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in Europe with time for your driver to explain a lot of the local mythology of the Temple. The temple itself can also be easily described as a jaw dropping site with many coming from across the world for only this site. Of course this is always a subjective opinion and we understand that not everyone may enjoy the drive, although we do consider it a highlight of the tour overall. Great way to see Athens highlights in a day. Alex was our driver and provided great history and facts as we approached each site. Betty was our private guide at the Acropolis and Museum, and was also incredibly knowledgeable, had wonderful graphics with her and kept us moving around the crowds. I highly recommend going first thing in the morning to avoid the larger cruise ship crowds, if you’re able (we had a 7:30am pickup for the 8am opening and it was perfect). We enjoyed the changing of the guard and other stops around Athens, the headed down the coast for lunch in Sounion and visiting the Temple of Poseidon. It was stunning! Just be prepared for 4+ hours in the car, round trip, if you add this on. It was a gorgeous day for it though.
