Great experience! Felt extremely safe, everyone was well cared for. Extremes knowledgeable guides. Comfort from start to finish
Amazing people, amazing views, an amazing time. Originally we had scheduled a 7-day Achame hike. A month before the trip, my husband hurt his back and wasn’t sure he’d be able to handle it. We went back and forth but about a week before landing, we contacted Victoria and she set up an amazing 3-day Lemosho route for us. Our guides and the porters, though we knew them for only 3 days, have made a lifetime of an impact on us. I truly had to hold back tears saying goodbye to them. The Swahili they taught us, the songs and dances they entertained us with, the abundance of food they provided us with and the genuine care and smiles at every corner, we could not have asked for a better start for our Honeymoon. Hamsa, Stanley, Josee, Josef, Rafiki, Witness and everyone else, we have nothing but gratitude to share. Thank you!!
Just an amazing and stress free experience through Altezza! The guides, camp staff, and porters are nothing short of amazing - I have never felt more cared for in my life. They are pros and have everything you need to make it as safe and comfortable as possible to the summit. Transfers and activities were smooth both before and after the trip; Sophia, my coordinator made the whole journey seamless!
I climbed the 8-day Lemosho Route with Altezza from 21–28 June 2026 and reached Uhuru Peak (5,895m). It was the hardest and most rewarding thing I’ve ever done, and Altezza’s people are the reason I made it. To our lead guide Emmanuel — your leadership was extraordinary. Calm, encouraging, and always in control, you got me to the summit and safely back down. I couldn’t have done it without you. Tyson, thank you for steadying me on the brutal descent from the top. Julius, you took my backpack when I was breaking on summit night and gave me the strength to keep going. Jim’s, you have set excellent pace on the summit night, and made it very easy to follow on the summit night. Aggrey, you carried my pack when my knees gave out — a kindness I won’t forget. And to the porters — the true heart of this expedition. Thank you for carrying our food and equipment, for the hot cup of tea waiting every single morning, for hauling our portable toilets, and for bringing the resupply up the mountain mid-trek. Thank you for carrying our tents and having them set up and waiting every time we arrived at camp, exhausted and grateful. You worked harder than anyone and asked for nothing. We saw you, and we’re endlessly grateful. If you’re dreaming of Kilimanjaro, climb with Altezza. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, made possible by an exceptional team. From the bottom of my heart — thank you. 🏔️
Summiting Mount Kilimanjaro 8 days trip (21-28th June) was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but also one of the most rewarding. Looking back, I truly believe we couldn’t have done it without the incredible team at Altezza Travel. From the moment we arrived, everything was organised with such professionalism and genuine care. Even before the trek began, Esther took the time to carefully check all of our equipment and patiently answered every question we had. Her kindness and attention to detail immediately made us feel we were in the best hands. The biggest thank you goes to our outstanding guides—Emmanuel, Aggrey, Antony, Wilson, Juma and Godfrey. They weren’t just guides; they became our mentors, protectors and biggest cheerleaders. They constantly checked on us, encouraged us when we doubted ourselves, celebrated every small milestone, and always made our safety their top priority. During summit night, when every step felt impossible, they believed in us even when we struggled to believe in ourselves. Behind them was an incredible team of 71 crew members who worked tirelessly every single day. They carried equipment, pitched our tents before we arrived, prepared amazing meals, brought us warm water, and greeted us with smiles no matter how long their own day had been. Their dedication, hard work and genuine care touched us more than words can express. They are the true heroes behind every successful summit. What impressed us most wasn’t just the organisation—it was the heart of every single person on the team. They made us feel like family, not just clients. Their warmth, positivity and “Hakuna Matata” spirit carried us through one of the greatest challenges of our lives. To everyone at Altezza Travel, thank you for giving us an adventure we’ll cherish forever. Reaching the Roof of Africa was an unforgettable achievement, but the people we met along the way are what we’ll remember most. If you’re thinking about climbing Kilimanjaro, don’t hesitate. Choose Altezza Travel. They won’t just help you reach the summit—they’ll make the entire journey one you’ll carry with you for the rest of your life.
The 8-day Lemosho route provided an ideal acclimitazation profile. Highlights included transitioning from the rainforest to moorland on day 2, reaching Lava Tower on day 4, and scrambling up Barranco Wall on day 5. The guides were excellent at setting the pace for the group, ensuring everyone who made it to base camp successfully summitted and safely descended to a lower camp for the night. The summit push began at midnight, so prepare for a long several days of ascending to base camp in the morning, summitting later than night into the next morning, and descending down to Millennium Camp by evening. The chefs cooked delicious and nutritious meals that provided the energy to trek for 8 continuous days without a rest day. The porters were incredible in carrying our duffel bags up and down the mountain, and the campmasters ensured our tents were set up prior to our arrival to camp. Overall, I would do this trek again or come back for a safari next time and highly recommend going with Altezza.
This was a fantastic experience to the top of Kilimanjaro. Despite living at ~6300', the altitude posed a bigger challenge than I expected. Sleeping at night was one of the biggest factors, altitude coupling with Jetlag from the USA, but the guide team and the rest of my group helped me persevere and make it to the top. The guide team, led by Elia, Musa, Eric, Kassim, David and many more were excellent in guiding the team along the route. Not only up, but back down to civilization. As they say, making it to the top is optional, making down is mandatory. We were blessed with wonderful weather on summit night, cold, but light winds. Altezza gear recommendations were spot on. I also would rate the support from Airport pick up to airport drop off as first rate. My trip organizer Mary did a great job, as did the manager at the hotel who reviewed my gear for the trek. All the accommodations were also very nice, on and off mountain. I would recommend Altezza to anyone looking to climb Kilimanjaro.
I can’t even begin to describe the people of Altezza. Amazing! Our climbing guides and the 70+ workers behind the scene to feed us, transport our gear and tents, and make sure we were safe and healthy. I love them all for helping me have the best experience!
Osward and his entire crew were superheroes in every way for our group climbing Mount Kiliminjaro. I literally could not have done it without them and am so grateful for their expertise, patience, strength, and encouragement. Our group had a couple of medical situations and we were in great hands. Add if climbing Kili wasn't memorable enough already, they even made us feel extra special by helping us celebrate new marriages in our group. It took me months to find the right words to say in this review - throughout that time I've thought about that experience every day - including just how impressed I am with our guides and their entire crew. Understand that no matter how great your crew is and everything they do for you - Kili is still a huge feat. In our case, or crew was amazing and exceeded all expectations (and I know my entire group would agree). But I still look back on Kili with pride as one of the toughest things I've ever done. Thank you Osward and Kili for enabling it!!! Sincerely, Chris
I did the 8-day Lemosho climb with Altezza as a solo traveller. I was a novice hiker with limited experience, however the guides were excellent and encouraging, helping me where I needed it. They also expertly treated my altitude sickness on day 2, to the point that I recovered & summited successfully a few days later. The head guide, Bosco, was fantastic along with his entire crew - I cannot thank them enough!
