La segunda montaña más alta de Tanzania y la cuarta del continente africano se eleva a unos impresionantes 4566 m o 14980 pies sobre el suelo, justo al este de la región del Kilimanjaro en el Parque Nacional Arusha. Generalmente sirve como una excelente caminata de calentamiento (aclimatación) para la ascensión al Kilimanjaro, el Monte Meru también es una caminata espectacular por derecho propio y ofrece un emocionante primer día a través del bosque del parque (casi como un safari a pie) con un guardabosques armado (compartido). con otros grupos) antes de llevarlo a las zonas alpinas secas hasta el pico lleno de pedregal. En un día despejado se pueden contemplar vistas del Kilimanjaro a lo lejos, así como una vista fascinante del cráter Meru.

Lugares y horarios de recogida
Su guía visitará su albergue base / albergue previo a la escalada el día antes de su caminata para recibir información y coordinar la hora de inicio del día siguiente. A la mañana siguiente deberás ver a tu guía y nuestro vehículo en la recepción de tu albergue o en el área de estacionamiento. Si no puede ver a nuestro conductor/guía, puede solicitar a la recepción de su albergue que se ponga en contacto.

We are Moni and Kies, two friends from germany in our midthirties. With Shahtours we went on the Mt Meru and Kilimanjaro tour and did the machame trek in 6 days. Both were amazing trips and we will never forget this adventure. The organisation was done via whats app. Super easy and convenient, also very professional. To optimize the first offer to meet our special requirement were no problem at all. The briefing before the start of the tour was very helpful to know what clothes to bring. When the tours started we met the whole team and were able to say hello. I really liked that because I want to know the people. That also helped to get in contact easier during the tour. The whole team was super professional. Everything was always on time and well prepared. The equipment like tent and additionally rented jacket and hiking boots were very good. The guides always had good advice during the tour and answered every question. Every day there was a debriefing and a briefing for the next day so we always knew what to expect. In the morning an evening there was a daily check of blood oxygen, heart rate and for symptoms of altitude sickness. I felt super safe the whole time. The team did everything to support us reaching the summit. The food was amazing and plenty. I'm so thankful for that adventurous experience and can highly recommend booking with shah tours.
