Empiece por ser recogido para su tour privado, en un hotel o AirBnB en Lisboa. En este recorrido, visitará la reserva natural de Arrábida, donde disfrutará de las impresionantes vistas de las montañas, aprenderá sobre la historia de la zona, experimentará algunos de sus mejores productos y visitará sus playas (durante el verano).
El primer lugar por el que pasaremos es Azeitão, una región pintoresca que se destaca por sus vinos y quesos. Quizás pare allí y tome su desayuno, probando algunos productos locales tradicionales.
Al llegar al parque nacional del Parque Nacional Arrábida, verá las impresionantes vistas del estuario del Sado, que está catalogado como una de las bahías más hermosas del mundo. Al estar en un parque natural, tiene algunos lugares hermosos, donde puede estacionar y tomar fotografías increíbles de la montaña y el Océano Atlántico. En el camino, se detendrá para ver desde el exterior el Convento de Arrábida y Lapa de Santa Margarida, antes de llegar al centro histórico de Setúbal.
En el camino, se detendrá para ver el Convento de Arrábida, fundado en 1542 por fray Martinho de Santa Maria, un franciscano castellano a quien don João de Lencastre (1501-1571), el primer duque de Aveiro, le concedió la tierra.
Al llegar a Setúbal, explorará el mercado de Livramento. En junio / 2015, USA Today Travel (Food & Wine), consideró este mercado como uno de los 10 mejores mercados de pescado del mundo. Las paredes de azulejos distintivos del mercado, llamadas "Azulejos", se componen de 5.700 piezas de azulejos decorativos, los paneles de las paredes miden aproximadamente 1.259 pies cuadrados y representan escenas de las actividades locales cotidianas como la pesca y la agricultura. Aquí exploraremos una de las primeras "fortificaciones estelares" construidas en Portugal y disfrutaremos de las increíbles vistas de los alrededores. El trabajo en la fortaleza comenzó en 1590 y se completó en 1600. La Fortaleza de São Filipe, resultado de las órdenes del rey, para la fortificación del litoral que protegía Setúbal y la entrada del río Sado. El espacio interior, que originalmente incluía la Casa del Gobernador y el ejército. Hay una pequeña capilla barroca, aún conservada, dedicada a Nuestra Señora de 1736.
A continuación, se dirigirá a un raro molino de mareas restaurado que se construyó en 1601. Esta pieza de arqueología industrial es un testimonio de la experiencia en ingeniería medieval. El molino todavía usa las mareas como fuente de energía renovable y no contaminante. También podrás descubrir uno de los humedales más grandes de Portugal.

Wonderful day with Rod. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the beauty of Portugal that was shared with us. Rod was knowledgeable , friendly and a great driver. An absolutely perfect day!
We had an amazing day touring Arrabida with Paulo! We stopped at overlooks in the park with beautiful views, enjoyed visiting the Castle, Sebola and the tile shop. Paulo found an excellent local restaurant for a fun lunch. A great day!
We did a private tour to Arraida National Park and Setubal with Rodrigo as our guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and was a pleasure to be with for the day. Had a few stops in the National Park and then on to Setubal to visit the local mercado, including the fish market. Then visited the fort and had lunch at a local fish restaurant. Final stop was at a water mill. An enjoyable day.

We had a great day with Poul in Arrabida and Sétubal. The nature, the historic sites and a trip to the market were amazing. We had lunch at a local family restaurant for 10 euros inclusive wine, coffee, dessert, bread everything - it was one of the best meals we had for a long time. Poul had a large knowledge and we learned a lot about history, nature, food and he was happy to answer questions about the political and social situation so we really felt that we had seen and learned a lot when we came home. We highly recommend the tour.

Arrábida and the Setúbal region is very beautiful in terms of the natural reserve and obviously the wine and gastronomy. Very simple, but very good and, as you mention, affordable. Thank why we love to bring travellers outside of Lisbon, and show them what the "rural" and "natural" Portugal has to offer... And it´s so close to Lisbon...
