An excellent excursion even without a guide, logically it loses a lot of charm since you have to know where to look for the animals, and going alone you see many fewer than when accompanied. Some suspension bridges, the longer ones, open up beautiful views of the forest and the volcano. At the end of the path there is also a wonderful panoramic terrace.
Wow, so beautiful. Crowded at entrance but once on the trails, we were mostly alone. The bridges are very safe and hardly sway. The first one seems to be the highest and was a little scary for those afraid of heights but after that, you get more used to it and actually enjoy the views! The sounds of cicadas was amazing!
Visit done at 9 a.m., in the rain…, the vegetation is very beautiful and the suspension bridges are very nice. However, even at 9 a.m.… the line at the bridges… we saw 1 frog and 2 snakes. The guide was not very involved and we were waiting near the bridges instead of taking our time on the trail. Personally, too many people and it felt very touristy for the price.
Everything was great unfortunately we didn’t see any animals. We did go during the rain which I think I made it more fun and it was not crowded at all. There was actually no one there. We went at 3:30 PM. I would say the front desk. He was nice, but the lady when he entered to go park, she was not helpful at all because we tried to do a walk because we didn’t want a Guide and she said OK park right here so we parked there and then we went to the front desk and they said that we couldn’t go in because we needed reservations and she sent like eight people back on the road probably more that’s just what we saw and they are not helpful at all.
Beautiful park, my daughter and I enjoyed the hike. After hiking in Rainmaker we enjoyed it more than Mistico as it felt more natural.
Thank you very much for visiting us with your daughter and for sharing your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you both enjoyed the beauty of our park and the hike together. We completely understand your perspective. Costa Rica is home to a wonderful variety of natural reserves, each offering a unique style of trail. While some parks focus on a more rugged feel, our infrastructure and hanging bridges are designed to provide a safe, accessible, and comfortable way to explore the rainforest canopy. We truly appreciate your comments and wish you and your daughter many more great adventures in Costa Rica! Pura Vida,
An overpriced tourist trap. We waited in shorter lines at Disney World than in front of some bridges at Mistico. Crowds of visitors waiting in a single-file line to take the same Instagrammable photo.

We went to Mistico Park early yesterday morning admittedly thinking ‘not another wildlife walk’! How wrong we were! Our guide Edgar took us round the park for three hours and his knowledge, expertise and passion made it the stand out experience of our trip so far. His commentary throughout was so informative and inspiring, it made you want to discover more about this amazing place. The surroundings are spectacular, the bridges breathtaking and there is wildlife everywhere but our guide really made our day. Thank you Edgar.

It was a beautiful walk and the bridges were fun. We went during rainy season and without a guide so we only saw one monkey, one frog, and some beautiful butterflies. Without a guide I wouldn't expect to see much, especially if you move quickly. We took our time and took everything in. Lots of rain so I am assuming the animals were seeking cover. I still think the views are worth it and you can take your time and enjoy it all.

We did the self-guided tour at Mistico Hanging Bridges and had a fantastic experience. The first thing that stands out is just how rich and stunning the vegetation is - seeing all the dense rainforest plants, giant ferns, and canopy greenery up close from the bridges was worth the trip alone. Even without a tour guide, we were lucky enough to spot some great wildlife along the path whenever we came across them. Keep your eyes open, because animals can pop up anywhere along the trail or up in the trees! Also, don't worry about the physical demand: the hike is not hard at all. The main loop is well-paved, clearly marked, and very manageable for most fitness levels.
