Antiguo Castillo de Celje

En ningún lugar de Eslovenia hay tantos (restos de) castillos y casas solariegas como en la cuenca de Savinja. Las razones para eso se pueden encontrar en varios hechos. En primer lugar, es importante destacar que hasta 1140 este fue el centro de Savinja margraviate, que los obispos de Karinthia Krško obtuvieron muchos bienes y, por último pero no por ello menos importante, que muchas familias nobles se asentaron en esta área. Entre ellos, los más importantes fueron ciertamente los poderosos condes y príncipes de Celje.

Los Castillos son un reflejo de una era, sin embargo, las personas en diferentes períodos los aceptaron y los percibieron de manera muy diferente, al igual que la vida adquiere nuevas formas todo el tiempo. Los castillos y las casas solariegas, con su extraordinario pasado y presente, siempre han provocado la imaginación humana. Varias historias se entrelazaron sobre los castillos, sobre todo sobre sus habitantes, que más tarde fueron cambiados por las personas y que se les han contado a sus descendientes hasta el día de hoy. Y debido a todas esas historias y leyendas sobre los castillos y sus habitantes que se mantuvieron en la tradición popular, aún podemos (mágicamente) revivir el pasado de las ruinas en su mayoría del castillo, que aún osados y orgullosos se paran en los clifs y nos recuerdan a su antigua gloria. Así se contaron muchas historias y leyendas sobre el Castillo Viejo Celje, el Castillo Inferior, los Condes y los Príncipes de Celje y la gente de Teharje. Well preserved medieval castle. Very interesting visit and spectacular views from the viewpoint and the tower. You can see all of Celje and its surroundings. It is worth the visit and the 7 euros it costs to enter.
Beautifully preserved castle on top of a mountain. Very nice views. On some days there are activities in the castle, but this was not during our visit.
It’s a nice option after the hike but you can also go by car, of course. The castle is well maintained and organised. The staff at the reception is kind and attentive. Different places and rooms with great views from the town of Celje. Some information about the history of the village and a nice cafeteria for an espresso.
Beautiful old castle with a lot of history. It used to belong to a powerful house of Grofje Celjski and it shows. It is placed above old city center of Celje which offers scenic views of Celje and its sourroundings. A must visit if you are around!
Was visiting this castle with my Erasmus programme. We had a lovely visit and guide was very good at explaining and answering the questions. However, tour was shorter than I expected.
Visited the Castle on a gorgeous sunny day and it was just wonderful You get a great feeling of medieval times and the walk ways between some of the buildings make you feel like you are on the set of a Game of Thrones episode Fabulous views from the top of the tower and really good information about the castle Nice little cafe at the entrance which is nice at the end, especially if the the weather was hot, like on our visit Well worth the €15 for a family of 4 !
Nice and beautiful castle with a cozy bar with small playground on. Beautiful view of the city. Not a super long visit, but for what you pay there definitely worth stopping.
