Descripción
Este tour, realizado por Due South Travels, es una visita guiada a pie de más de 2 horas de Antigua, uno de los sitios del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO. Nuestro guía local le dará un montón de gran información, incluyendo la historia de la ciudad y su arquitectura, la geografía, la cultura y la religión de la Guatemala histórica y moderna. Durante el recorrido visitaremos y discutiremos los puntos de referencia significativos de Antigua. Hablaremos sobre los volcanes y terremotos que Guatemala ha experimentado, los grupos étnicos mayas, la invasión Española y la vida moderna aquí. Si desea visitar los museos de jade o aprender más sobre lugares para comer y beber, tomar un café, etc, por favor pregunte a su guía!

Itinerario
Este tour de Due South Travels recorrerá una ruta tranquila desde la Iglesia de la Merced, bajando 5a Avenida, a través de Central Park. Luego visitaremos las ruinas de la catedral y pasaremos por Tanque Union Park, y terminaremos en la Iglesia de San Francisco.

Arquitectura barroca. Punto de partida en la parte delantera de la iglesia. Si quieres entrar, por favor usa ropa conservadora que cubra tus codos y rodillas, y quítate cualquier sombrero antes de entrar. (No se puede entrar durante un servicio masivo)
Aprenda sobre este parque, la clínica médica, la pila y las ruinas de Santa Clara.
Terminaremos aquí con una visita a la iglesia y tumba de San Pedro. Si desea ingresar a la iglesia, por favor use ropa conservadora, cubierta hasta los codos y rodillas, y quítese los sombreros. No se puede entrar mientras tiene lugar la misa.

Carlos was a great guide- it ended up just being two of us with him and we really enjoyed the private tour at our own pace. Carlos was very knowledgeable and personable and taught us a lot about the history of Antigua. He gave lots of recommendations and introduced us to the Jade museum. He went above and beyond- taking lots of pictures and videos of us with different sites. If I had known he was going to do a photo shoot I would have dressed cuter! Thanks Carlos!

It was fine. It was overpriced for what it was. We didn’t really see anything and our guide didn’t really teach us much and what he did say was hard for my partner to understand.

Really appreciated that Carlos waited a very long time for us to arrive as our bus from Puerto Quetzal was very delayed. We enjoyed the tour and the architectural details and context Carlos pointed out. Didn’t get to the old city or the cathedral ruins, but that might have been due to our time constraints. Great option to see many of the highlights and some sights we definitely would have missed without having a guide. Definitely recommend!

The tour guide was nice but she was injured and couldn’t walk much. We also had a difficult time hearing and understanding her at times. We hardly walked the city at all. She kept having us sit down after going only a short way. I am guessing because she needed to rest her bad knee. Considering this was a walking tour, I felt like it was a rip off. I think we could have learned and seen so much more on a different tour. I cannot recommend this one. But I wish the very best for our guide’s recovery from her injury.

We paid just a few dollars extra for the private tour, and it was well worth it. Our guide, Carlos, was super knowledgeable and personable. He told such interesting information and stories about Antigua, and he was very patient while we did a little shopping :).
