Visita la salida del sol fuera de Angkor Wat, entra en el gran templo en la oscuridad desde el lado oeste y empápate de la atmósfera del amanecer en Angkor, desde el borde de una de las antiguas bibliotecas. Pase su día con el guía de su templo local para aprovechar al máximo su visita al mundialmente famoso complejo de Angkor, construido entre los siglos IX y XIII, cuando el imperio jemer fue la principal influencia en el sudeste asiático.

Comenzamos con una salida antes del amanecer (4.30 a 4.45 a.m., según la época del año) de su hotel para el amanecer fuera de Angkor Wat. Entra en el gran templo en la oscuridad desde el lado este poco visitado, y recorre los corredores enclaustrados más allá del tramo más largo de tallas en bajorrelieve del mundo.
La puerta sur de Angkor Thom es la mejor conservada. Se accede desde el exterior a través de una calzada que se extiende unos cincuenta metros a través de un foso. A cada lado de la calzada hay barandillas con 54 figuras de piedra dedicadas a la interpretación de una famosa historia hindú: el mito del batido del océano. En el lado izquierdo del foso, 54 'devas' (dioses guardianes) tiran de la cabeza de la serpiente 'Shesha' mientras que en el lado derecho 54 'asuras' (dioses demoníacos) tiran de la cola de la serpiente en la dirección opuesta. En este mito, el cuerpo de la serpiente está envuelto alrededor de la montaña central — Mt. Meru, tal vez correspondiente aquí al templo de Bayon en el centro del sitio. En cualquier caso, el mito cuenta que cuando los Devas atrajeron a la serpiente en una dirección y los dioses empujaron en la otra, el océano comenzó a batir y precipitar los elementos. Alternando de un lado a otro, el océano fue "ordeñado", formando nuevamente la tierra y el cosmos.
Angkor Thom es el sitio majestuoso que una vez sirvió como la ciudad capital brillante del Imperio Khmer. Tómese un momento para considerar su grandiosidad antes de aventurarse dentro de la ciudad. Al llegar al templo de Bayon, aprecie sus torres centrales bellamente diseñadas y cubiertas con más de 200 caras enormes.
La Terraza de los Elefantes de 350 m de largo se usó como un stand de revisión gigante para ceremonias públicas y sirvió como base para la gran sala de audiencias del rey. Tiene cinco puestos de trabajo que se extienden hacia la Plaza Central: tres en el centro y uno en cada extremo. La sección central del muro de contención está decorada con garuda y leones de tamaño natural; hacia ambos extremos se encuentran las dos partes del famoso desfile de elefantes con sus mahouts jemer.
Uno de los templos más atmosféricos de todos los de Angkor. Una vez en el hogar de 2,740 monjes, Ta Prohm se ve hoy como lo hizo a principios de la década de 1850, cuando el explorador francés Henri Mouhot "redescubrió" este sitio en ruinas. Después de explorar el laberinto del interior de Ta Prohm, regrese a su hotel después de un día largo pero satisfactorio, que le dejará con toda una vida de recuerdos de una de las maravillas del mundo.

We had a guided tour by Sam and his driver Da! It was just amazing, he showed us the best spots instead of all the tourist spots! It was impressive how much knowlegde Sam had on both the temples as well as the Khmer history. I would recommend him for sure! A 10/10 experience. And he was a great cameraman as well!!

This tour was awwsome! Watching the sunrise at Angkor Wat was absolutely breathtaking, but what really made the day unforgettable was our amazing guide, Sam, and our driver, Mr. Ha. Sam was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. As we walked through the temples, he shared fascinating stories and historical details that brought each place to life. He also planned the route perfectly, making sure we avoided unnecessary walking in the heat while still seeing all the highlights. We learned so much and enjoyed every moment. Mr. Ha was equally fantastic. He was always there waiting for us at each temple exit with cold water and refreshing towels, which made such a difference during the day. It is a must do experience!

Sam was a great tour guide who took us to a great spot to watch the sunset overlooking Angkor Wat. Seeing the different temples of Angkor Wat, Bayon Temple, and Ta Prohm was amazing. Sam had a lot of details to share and made it interesting with his story telling. He even added some details about the culture of Cambodia which was nice to learn. He's also great taking photos and knows all the good spots. I highlight recommend this tour! To top it off, our driver Ha was amazing and so attentive. Every time we got on the bus he had a cold towel and water ready for us.
