Vamos a visitar tres templos principales en el circuito pequeño, como Angkor Wat, Bayon y el templo Ta Prohm. Sin embargo, con este recorrido, también tiene otro pequeño templo, si tiene energía, también lo llevaremos. Angkor Wat es un templo enorme. Fue construido en 1113 - 1150 dC por el rey Suryavarman II y mide 330 metros por 260 metros. Angkor Wat tiene tres niveles con 5 torres principales. Angkor Wat se ha convertido en el símbolo nacional de Camboya e incluso se encuentra en la bandera de la nación, ya que simboliza el alma del país. A continuación, visitaremos la ciudad de Angkor Thom y nos detendremos en la Puerta Sur de la ciudad de Angkor Thom y el Templo Bayon y luego continuaremos hacia el Templo Baphuon, la Terraza del Elefante, la Terraza del Rey Leproso y el Palacio Real. My tour guide (Dan) was terrific! He was a good storyteller and had a vast knowledge of Cambodian history (both cultural and political) as well as the religions that shaped the building of the temples and the carvings on the walls. He also augmented his discussions with pictures and videos. For instance, one of the relief sculptures on the wall depicted a Hindu battle scene. He showed me a short video of the battle that really helped pull it all together. He encouraged questions and answered everything with the right level of detail. Plenty of cold water and cold towels were available. There a lot of walking and climbing up stairs and uneven stones to step on and over so bring good walking shoes and a lot of energy. We were fortunate that it was reasonably mild weather that morning (85 degrees) so it wasn’t as taxing as it may be in warmer weather. I highly recommend this tour.

It was our first time visiting the temples in Siem Reap and we had an unforgettable experience with Thom.
