Booked this evening (21.30) cruise during a few days in Amsterdam to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We thought it would be one of the highlights of the trip but sadly not. To say we were disappointed is to put it very mildly. We noticed that unlike most of the other similar boats that we'd seen this one just had the skipper unlike others who had a skipper and 1 other crew member (presumably to sort out drinks and provide commentary). We had paid extra for the unlimited drinks option - well what a scam. A drink before the boat cast off then no further mention of drinks at all. We would have expected at least a help yourself from the onboard boxes which were shut - and from where we were sat would have had to squeeze past other passengers. Also really disappointing was the skipper (couldn't catch his name unfortunately). Had no microphone and as a result difficult to comprehend. We were sitting next to him but behind, no idea how people at the front would have heard what he was saying. Having said that he actually said very very little so didn't learn anything about the areas we were going through or the buildings etc that we were passing. What a contrast to an excellent guide we had the previous day on a GURU free walking tour. Perhaps with some aspects we were unlucky but this is our opinion of what we experienced.
Great way to see the city. Very informative captin who knows his stuff! As weather was so warm option of umbrellas were available to get out of the heat.
Lively experience and the tour guide and captain was fantastic! Gave us all the info about Amsterdam but made it fun and entertaining (sorry I forgot his name)
The night cruise was the perfect time of day to enjoy the city from the canals. Captain Jack was personable and informative and we learned much more about Amsterdam!
Had a great time on our evening canal tour; a lot of history about the city from a unique perspective. highly recommend!
The boat tour was very nice. Our tour guide Merlin was great, knowledgable and with a great sense of humour. I would book this tour again for sure.
You absolutely must do this activity when you are in Amsterdam and preferably at nightfall, because you get to enjoy the very beautiful interiors, the buildings, and the lights of the streetlamps on the water; an incredible experience, a magical walk.
In cooler weather one should have slightly warmer clothing. It was 21 degrees when we went at 7:30pm but as the sun was setting g it did get a bit cool. Our guide (Timone) was awesome! Was great learning some history and fun facts about Amsterdam
Great experience with captain Emma! Thank you for all the Amsterdam knowledge!! Would definitely do it again.
Bob was great. Wonderful knowledge base.
