Es el único recorrido por Chawton y Alton dirigido por una italiana que vive en Chawton desde hace años y que relata el maravilloso mundo de la campiña inglesa a través de sus blogs y vídeos seguidos por miles de personas en todo el mundo. Además de sumergirse en el mágico mundo de Jane Austen, participando en la visita podrá descubrir cómo es vivir en un auténtico pueblo inglés junto a sus habitantes. Durante este recorrido de dos horas y media, le llevaré a descubrir los lugares que marcaron la vida de Jane Austen e inspiraron sus obras, y le acompañaré por la ruta que solía seguir cuando iba de Chawton, el pueblo donde vivía con su madre y su hermana, a la cercana ciudad de Alton para ir de compras o visitar a amigos o familiares. La excursión comienza en la estación de tren de Alton y sigue la "Ruta de Jane Austen" hasta Chawton. Alton es una preciosa ciudad de Hampshire rodeada a 360 grados por la hermosa campiña del sur de Inglaterra, a unos 70 kilómetros de Londres y a media hora de Winchester. En su centro histórico hay muchos edificios relacionados con la vida de Jane Austen que se mencionan en sus cartas. En esta primera parte del recorrido, le llevaré a descubrir Alton y los lugares relacionados con la autora de Orgullo y prejuicio, además de proporcionarle información sobre la historia y el presente de esta hermosa ciudad.

Laura was such a warm and personable guide, and made our tour of Alton and Chawton feel like we were exploring with an old friend. Since it happened to be just the two of us on the tour, we had a very personal experience and plenty of time to ask questions, while Laura’s local knowledge brought Jane Austen’s world to life with stories about the homes and people we passed along the way. We didn’t even feel the need to tour Jane Austen’s house because Laura gave us so much fascinating history and context. The tour ran a little long, but we didn’t mind at all. The trip from London was a fairly easy train ride, depending on how familiar you are with the train system. Just be prepared for lots of walking (about 4.5 miles total—one way with Laura and the way back on your own), wear comfortable shoes and bring water. This was a highlight of our trip!
Laura met us on time at Alton Station and we went on a almost 3-hours-Tour, which was extremely interesting. We enjoyed it very much. It is a beautiful walk and you can learn so much about the different houses and the people at the time. Laura is a wonderful guide, we can highly recommend booking her tours! It is the best preparation going to the Jane Austen house.
I really loved this experience! Laura is a so considerate and pleasant lady and I spent a beautiful morning with her! She took me back in time, showing me the very paths that Jane Austen walked every day. It also shared fascinating stories about her life that I had never known before and brought me to beautiful places in the English countryside that I never knew existed. We met our guide Laura outside the train station. She is a lovely lady who guided us through Alton giving is the history of the town and the different ways it related to Jane Austin and her family. We walked along the town and into Chawton on a beautiful sunny day, stopping at the different houses as Laura explained the history and architecture until we arrived at Chawton House. Laura painted the picture of Jane and her family through out the tour so well that by the time we were able to tour Jane’s house it all seemed so familiar and really special. This was a beautiful experience and was a special highlight of our trip to London from Texas. Thank you Laura. Your knowledge and passion for Jane Austin was what made this experience so special.
Laura was great! She is Italian by birth, but the tour was delivered in excellent English. I Bought as an anniversary present for my wife, and she loved it. A super itinerary that brought new insight in to Jane Austen. Laura's knowledge and way of sharing was faultless, helped by her own research. We found parking at Alton Station to be ideal.
