Alpine Classic Trek

It was an amazing hike and our guide Nick was very good; educational and friendly. Totally worth it! There was snow in the last section and our guide was prepared for us, he had micro spikes for all of us to use. I would go back anytime.
We're all ready for this late, cool spring to leave! I'm glad to hear you had a great time. Thank you for hiking with us!
I know we can all use AllTrails app to hike, but let me tell you as a hiker you WANT to use these guides especially in bear country. More importantly you want to learn about the area. Who can’t just use a trail app to walk a trail. But the experience is very different I have hiked for years and have done both. But in Alaska this is the way to go!!! Good luck and safe hiking.
When guests ask, "why use a guide?" I think this is the best reason why. There are no secrets in the age of the internet, anyone can find and do anything. But don't you want to LEARN about what you are doing and looking at? I think back about before I entered tourism, and if I knew then what I know now, guided tours would have been higher on my list. I took exactly 1 guided tour when I lived in Europe (Fort and Limestone mines in Maastricht NL, for those wondering), and I think about what I learned on that tour ALL THE TIME. Thank you for taking the time to leave this review!
Excellent hike with beautiful scenery. Saw a bull moose, hiked to the top and it was just stunning. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this hike.
I think everyone who can do this hike should, the views are unmatched. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review!
The views are worth it! We also had a really great guide (Stephan). The hike itself was challenging, as described, but I always felt comfortable to pace myself as needed.
I'm glad you felt comfortable to pace yourself. When guests ask me for a recommendation, this is the hike I suggest if physically able. We just want everyone to enjoy themselves, and the views are a bonus! I'll pass you kind words along to Stefan.
It was very amazing experience! Our tour guide Stephan was very knowledgeable and very professional!
Hello Armen, and thank you! We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review of your experience with Stefan. Your words matter!
We had a fabulous hike to Flat Top Mountain with Stefan this morning. He was a very knowledgeable, affable, interesting guy and our time with him was great! The views from the top were superb! We learned a lot about the area, the history and culture. We were fortunate enough to be the only two hiking this morning braving wind and snow but loved every minute of it! Thanks so much!
Hi Claire, We're so glad you had a great Flat Top hike with Stefan! Those views really are something, aren't they? We love sharing the culture and history with with our guests, it really helps you appreciate the beauty after braving the wind and snow! Thank you for your review!
Matt was so kind and patient with us. he was very informative and offered lots of information about the area and things to do/places to eat! would use again 10/10
Hey Christany! It was so cool taking you and Dylan up to the summit of Flattop. The moose was a highlight for me, and it was crazy seeing Laddie putting the windsock up on the flag pole. Cool day with great memories. I won't forget this one! Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review.
Caleb, our guide made a grand effort for us to get all the way up to the glacier at the top through wind, rain, snow, hail, and tons of wind. He thought we could not make it at first, but he saw my desire, and so he made it happen. I was so thrilled to see the beauty! Then he led us down quickly enough to make our dinner reservation at 49th State Brewing. Fantastic fun day with Caleb!
Glad to hear you had a great day! Thank you for hiking with us, and taking the time to leave a review.
Tina was an amazing guide through beautiful Alaska!! She knows Alaska hiking and provided us a challenging hike based on our experience and readiness! One of the most beautiful hikes!!
Thanks so much for leaving us a review!
My husband and I hiked the Alpine Classic Trek in September. Greg, our guide, was awesome. Lots of interesting conversation between us and you could tell he was extremely knowledgeable about Alaska. His love for the outdoors was evident, and he made us excited to experience each step up the mountain, even though we knew he's done this same hike too many times to count. When we first arrived in Anchorage, we were a bit underwhelmed - especially having traveled from Denali. However, this hike totally redeemed the stop in Anchorage on our Alaskan vacation. For us, the hike was challenging enough to still be an adventure (we regularly hike sand dunes at home so we felt physically capable for this hike). And the views...omg the views...We luckily had great weather and our pictures from this hike are probably better than the pictures from Denali Park. I would definitely recommend - and if I ever come back to AK I would consider another stop in Anchorage to hike this beautiful area.
Hello and thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review! We love Gregg so much, and glad to hear that you had a memorable experience with him. It goes to show that Anchorage is a great destination when planning your Alaskan vacation! Thanks again :)
