Only driver & he is also the guide. The route taken to Albania was throught a long & winding road...uninteresting & boring. The driver was friendly though.
Amazing tour, the guide was excellent, saw some amazing sights and views, got some great pictures, the hotel was amazing in tirana and the breakfast was delicious, tirana is an amazing city and budva and kotor were very beautiful towns in montenegro, would definitely recommend this tour.
My group of 7 had a fantastic 2-day trip to Montenegro and Albania! We enjoyed beautiful scenery, great food and history! Amir was our guide, and he really made the trip special for us. He was so personable and interesting and made it feel like we were one big happy family by the end of our weekend. The trip was very well orchestrated with great communication from Mirela from start to finish. I can't wait to do another tour and I highly recommend!
My husband and I were very fortunate to experience our first Eastern European vacation this September. One of the highlights was a private tour guided by Zoran. His calm, quiet manner allowed us to privately explore the beautiful sites on this tour and his wealth of knowledge provided us with many interesting historical facts. He monitored the weather and customized the itinerary based on the unavoidable rain. We would not have toured Albania or Montenegro without his guidance. He chose excellent dining locations and was able to converse when English was not the first language as is ours. He is a skilled photographer and kindly photographed panoramic photos that will be memorable keepsakes for us. We highly recommend Zoran for your next private tour.
I traveled to Dubrovnik in October 2019 with my 14 year old daughter and 11 year old son. We customised this tour to visit Bosnia (1 night Sarajevo via Mostar), Albania (1 night Shkodër via Tirana) and Montenegro (1 night Sveti Stefan via Podgorica). Our guide (Besan) was great - very patient with the kids and flexible to our needs. Over 4 days/3 nights we saw so much which gave a much broader view of some of the Balkans. If you have time I’d definitely recommend seeing some of the sights.
My most memorable adventure during my three-month Eastern European vacation was my trip to Albania. Besam, my guide and driver, customized Vidokrug’s private two-day tour of Albania from Dubrovnik based on my interest in this country’s history as ancient Illyrian, Greek, and Roman civilizations, under Ottoman rule, and as a monarchy, republic, communist country, and democratic nation, as well as its traditional and modern culture. In addition, he altered the itinerary for our return trip as a I had visited Kotor Bay and Budva in Montenegro the previous month. We visited Rostafa’s Castle (where Besam convinced a local expert to give me a wonderful private tour of the museum), enjoyed delicious traditional Albanian food in the garden of a charming local restaurant with a friendly host, and toured a lively neighborhood while sipping a popular Albanian drink in Shkodra. We had dinner at a trendy restaurant in Tirana, explored this exciting city at night, and toured its fascinating Bunker Art Museum and National History Museum the next morning. We also toured the castle in Kruje, including the National Skanderberg Museum, and enjoyed the stunning views of the surrounding mountains, fields, rivers, and lakes from the terrace of this hill-top castle. Our final stop was Podgorica, Montenegro where we walked around this capital before dining in a fun sidewalk café. It was an interesting and enlightening, albeit brief, introduction to Albania. When I contacted Vidokrug about its Albanian tour, I specifically requested that Besam be my guide because I had such a great experience on my private tour of Sarajevo and Mostar in Bosnia-Herzegovina with him earlier in the summer. (See my TripAdvisor review of my Sarajevo and Mostar trip at https://www.tripadvisor.com/AttractionProductReview-g295371-d13425822-Sarajevo_Mostar_Private_Day_Tour_from_Dubrovnik_by_Vidokrug-Dubrovnik_Dubrovnik_Ne.html.) Besam, who is not only fluent in English, but also great at conversing with people, shared his extensive knowledge about these counties and the sites we visited. His ability to speak Albanian and to communicate effectively with speakers of other Slavic languages helped in numerous ways, including his obtaining recommendations and directions from residents and ensuring our smooth our passage through the border controls of the five countries we passed through (Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, and Albania) on my recent trip. Besam’s skillful driving on the curvy, mountainous roads, including late at night, made my traveling relaxing. Besam’s enthusiasm about showing me Albania and his commitment to ensuring that I had a great time helped make this trip special. I intend to return to Albania and when I do, I want Vidokrug and Besam to guide me.
I enjoyed this tour immensely. This tour is a great way to learn about Albanian history and see some beautiful countryside in Montenegro and Albania. The tour guide Besam really worked hard to make the trip smooth and pleasant for the customer. The castle’s visited are very interesting and both have nice museums. It was an easy, hassle free way to see Albania and Montenegro.
